The Amazing Spider-Man The Amazing Spider-Man clip thread

I love the Lizard featurette but am I the only one who finds his voice to be a little bit silly?

IMO he should sound more raspy and creepy, and also struggeling to get the words out.

It might seem fine once you see the movie ***you don't say***
:awesome:

I agree that it should be more creepy. But still, I think it sounds pretty good.

I really liked it. It will probably get more raspy and lizard like towards the end of the movie

These clips of Lizard talking could very well be during the 3'rd act. So, is it at all possible that by this time, Connors has learned to control the creature better? Including his way of speaking? Couldn't it be so, that when he first turns into the lizard he'll be completely NOT in control, and that he won't be able to get words out of his mouth, without forcing them? Basically, not having control over anything. Kinda like being born?

I don't think Connors is supposed to be "controlling" the Lizard. If he could do that, he wouldn't do the things he does as the Lizard (pre-Lizard, he does seem to be a good person with genuine intentions to help the world). I think the formula that Connors takes creates another side/personality (like Jekyll and Hyde)... that's my take on it at least.

Hmm, I'm starting to like Lizard's voice at "You won't...stop me again!!"

However, his voice at his second speech still sounds silly to me.

EDIT: Nvm. I've already changed my mind again hahaha! His voice sounds great there as well. Sounds desperate in a good way. I guess it's the way he looks there that kills it a little for me.

See, to me, it doesn't seem like that at all. The Lizard has Rhys' voice, and from his mannerisms and attitude, it seems to me that the Lizard is not a separate entity/personality, but rather a mutated man who has had his mind and ideals twisted by the formula. Connors goal is to help people, and that notion seems to get twisted when he becomes the lizard...he wants to "heal" and "cure" them the same way he's "cured" himself. I feel like if it were a separate personality they would have used a voice that felt a bit more separate from Rhys'. However, I could be wrong, but what I've seen points to that...unless of course Lizard refers to "Connors" in the film.

As for his voice, I like the deeper take on Rhys' voice and I don't even mind the accent. Also glad there's no hissing noises when he talks.

Where are those two Access Hollywood BTS videos? One had Emma and it showed something spoilerific, and another had Andrew, right?

Good points, I think it'll be either what I said, or the fact that Connors's mind is twisted by the formula.

I'm fine with either. Personally I prefer the twisted mind Connors who thinks he's helping humanity over a separate Lizard personality who wants reptilian dominion.

Wait, edit. I must be hallucinating.

I'm sure she does, from her internship at oscorp or maybe more
Personally... Hmmm I hope we don't get another Harry/Peter love triangle

Exactly...Very well said :yay:

"I can save them...I can cure them" and "You wont stop me again" Lizard will be a amazing villain. Because he we can see his emotions and yet we will feel threatend by him.

I do like the desperation in the Lizard's voice when he pleads to Peter that he can cure those with disabilities. The story seems to be going more of the way of Connors losing himself to the drug and the cause, rather than losing himself to the monster.
Granted, I would've preferred the latter, but I have no problem with what seems to be going on in the story. Either way, it's looking to be a very engaging and thoughtful take on the Lizard story.

Edit

Not sure if I could put what I wanted lol.

Really liking every clip from the film. Looks like this franchise will be like Nolan's for Spider-Man (and I'm a fan of the original franchise).

that scene was a little...idk, cheeky I guess. not sure how I feel about it. maybe it was the music, which really kind of rubbed me the wrong way. sounded like something from tv. overall I'm looking forward to this, but from what I'm hearing of the score I'm not too thrilled about it.

Not liking the score so far. Also is it just me or does Flash resemble Taylor Lautner.

Garfield sounds like he has a slight NYC accent in that clip. Peter never really had a definitive New Yorker sound to his voice, but it's a nice touch.
