According to this interview with Miles Elliot, it sounds like they did indeed film several scenes with Billy Connors (and Martha in one case?) -- not a lot of specifics mentioned short of several film sets he was at, but there's also an interesting mention of a scene where it sounds like Martha and Billy visit Curt at a mental institution? Possibly in the aftermath of the finale? IDK I hope we get a lot of deleted scenes on the DVD/Blu-Ray.

That's always a possibility. A lot of things cut could show up in a sequel in one form or another

Anyway something is definitely cut in the final part of the battle,the Lizard dissapears suddenly and Peter is maskless

No, there was a part cut where Peter is on the floor in the library without his mask yelling "Stop this right now!! This isn't you!!" that was cut. He just says, "This isn't you Doc" in the movie while they're fighting instead.

That part I'm guessing would be right after the Stan Lee cameo and would explain why he's suddenly maskless shortly after.

Sounds like such a waste for that movie. It's pretty lazy too. "Hey, let's put that deleted scene into this next movie that we're spending so much money on!"

This makes more sense than any of the other theories I've heard about this line.

That scene was supposed to reveal Dr. Ratha deactivated the security in the spider chamber to have Peter bitten for OsCorp's purposes, which I guess was cut due to fan backlash over the concept of Peter's powers not being a random accident.

As much as anyone, I've defended ASM from the constant assaults from Devin, which often seemed to be fueled by nothing more than a personal desire to cast the film in a negative light so he could crow "I told you so!".

However, I'll admit that the article linked above does have interesting notions, and there is probably some truth to the speculations of what the uncut version of the film had in store for us. Devin isn't a bad writer when he edits out his overly personal vendetta against a film (ie: "Just everyone wait, this movie stinks to high heaven, I know because I've heard, though I haven't seen it myself" type thing).

In any event, it does seem true that some type of major storylines were cut, edited out, reconceptualized, or are being saved for the future chapters. I wish I could see that original version, to see if I'd like it.

Bottom line, I absolutely loved The Amazing Spider-Man in its current theatrical form. So I'd have to say maybe the studio's intervening helped make the final film one that I loved. Or just maybe, I might have loved Webb's original version even more. Guess I'll never know.

the doorman scene was never meant to be in the film itself that was just a clip for the viral marketing.

and i noticed some dialogue got re-arranged too. for the car thief scene on the dvd from walmart he says

"i just did 80% of your job and that, that's how u repay me? huh?"

in the film he says "i just did 80% of your job. huh? and that's how u repay me?"

they altered where the "Huh" goes and it just feels unnatural and off in the final cut as opposed to the walmart dvd

I said this in another thread, but I honestly feel that the things that were cut wouldn't make that much of a difference in terms of the overall quality of the film. The story flows fine as-is, and the film is great as-is, but the inclusion of the cut material would have nevertheless made the story flow better (because that's just the nature of things; the more you're able to include, the better the story flows)

But before Dr. Ratha can spill out the truth, Connors heals his wounds and kills him. Peter shouts at Connors, who is mid-transformation. He says "If you want the truth about your parents, Peter... Come and get it", and escapes.

So I posted a link to an interview with the kid who had been cast as Billy Connors a few pages ago where he mentioned some stuff he had filmed, including scene where Billy and Martha visit Curt at the mental institution in the aftermath of the finale. And now I just found ANOTHER interview with him here with a few more details, though still mostly vague.

On the scene he read for the audition (bold emphasis mine) --

AL: What was it that interested you in auditioning for “The Amazing Spider Man”?

ME: At first I didn’t even know what film the role was for. The movie was only listed as a teen action film. I did a scene where my characters dad gets mad at me. After that we found out they were casting for “The Amazing Spider Man”.

Assuming he read a scene right out of the screenplay, it sounds like there was deleted scene where what possibly happens is Curt getting angry with his son, maybe under the influence of the Lizard serum? Who knows.

And then there's this (bold emphasis mine again) --

AL: Can you tell us about your character?

ME: I play Billy Connors who is the son of Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard which is played by Rhys Ifans. I have about 3 scenes in the film and I am just your normal everyday kid whose dad is a lizard.

So between this interview and the other one, one missing Connors family scene involves Curt losing his temper with Billy while another is his wife and son visiting him at the end of the film. No idea what the third scene could be though. Hmm. I really hope we get these scenes on the eventual DVD/Blu-Ray

I think that was exactly what happened
Ratha probably told him that his powers werent the result of an accident and he unlocked the spider door in the first place(which is quite obvious as Ratha clearly spots Peter stalking him before he opens the door)
Ratha is probably going to tell him the truth about his parents before he is killed by lizard who then mouths the line mid-transformation(If you want the truth peter,come and get it) and escapes,Peter then probably looks at his computer and notes and realizes his plan,he then calls Gwen and the film progresses as we've seen

Come to think of it..they should have kept in the altered origin plan instead of chopping it off,atleast it should have avoided some of them 'Been there,done that' reviews

The common complain of the general audience is 'Its the same as the first spidey,nothing has changed' or 'The action is too less compared to Riami's movies'
Both are legitimate complains imo

So 3 scenes with Billy Connors have been deleted,in one he Curt is getting angry at his(Most probably under the influence of the serum) and another where they visit him at the end of the film

The whole sewer scene is chopped off,I think its the point where his parents plot is(maybe partly) disclosed and how his powers werent and accident(Maybe it means he was experimented on but most likely Ratha cynically opened the spider door after seeing Peter following him)

Another part cut is the date,we heard them set up a date but we never saw them go on one,this is where we see them swinging from a lamp post(We see a set photo of it)

The football goal post scene is definitely cut

In the trailers Peter finishes the formula and writed it onto a huge board for Connors,in the film he writes it on a napkin,maybe the previous scenes contained dialoges about his parents which they,for some reason,decided not to show and reshot the scene in a different setting

Doorman scene is also chopped off

Hmm, I always got the vibe that when ratha said, 'do you really think what happened to you, was an accident,' that he was hinting towards what happened to his parents. As in why Peter was alone. And that, that worked together with Connors saying, 'if you want the truth come and get it,' cause well... in the scene with Ratha and Connors, to me at least, it was implied that Connors had something to do with the Parkers' deaths. Haha, sorry if this has been discussed before, but yeah. To me, it'd make much more sense, and Marc Webb has always talked about being loyal to the comics, so I can't really see him going the way by which Richard genetically tempers with Peter.
