The Amazing Spider-Man The Amazing Spider-Man (Deleted Scenes & Visual Changes) - Part 1

So 3 scenes with Billy Connors have been
The football goal post scene is definitely cut
No that was in there, just not the small dialogue with the football coach, which I would have liked to have been left in.

i think it was better with it cut out. peter bending the post with the ball was enough humour for the scene.

There's one thing I'm curious about:

Early on in the filming stages, we heard that the comic character Sally Avril would be appearing in Midtown Science High, as well as another girl who crushes on Peter. Can anyone who's seen the movie confirm or deny the existence of these characters?
Sally isn't named in the movie. She's credited as "Hot girl"

The pic of spidey in the bathroom was a set montage where Andrew Garfield told a guy to just follow him around all day on set.

Garfield hates wearing the spandex for normal-life stuff. Can't imagine how annoying it is in-universe for Pete.
I'm pretty sure the dark area on the crotch was so you couldn't see his d**k since he couldn't wear any underwear under the costume.

I stopped reading after "Annie Parisse was cast as Connor's wife...."

She was cast as Dr. Rathas wife.
That was never actually confirmed as being Dr. Ratha's wife from what I understand. She was only cast as "the villains wife" and while that could mean Dr. Ratha, I don't see how she would've been important to the main plot. And even then, Ratha isn't even that much of a villain. It's more likely that she's supposed to be Martha Connors.

Dr Ratha was cut because The Lizard kills him, in that scene in the sewers. In the game, in Rhino's bio it states that Ratha was killed by The Lizard. They are obviously saving him for another film.

Also with some of this deleted footage. Do you think we will get a TASM 1.5 ? A bit like the Spider-Man 2.1 ?

EDIT: Sorry, I just realized it's the unmasked scene... For some reason I though that was part of the sewer scene.

EDIT again: I don't remember this. They may have changed the setting from an alley to the side of the street...

How can I delete posts?

I suppose that the game was made before the movie's scene were cut. :/

One thing I found VERY noticeable was Ben's Death looked pieced together from the original shooting and the re-shoot. When it switches from Peter walking towards him to the in close shots, the lighting is completely different and even though the background is out of focus, it looks like it was the alley from the original shoot.

Also the "your obviously very bright Peter, like your Father" "You remind me of him you know"

and in the hallway the line is changed from "That's my Uncle, he's a pathological liar, he thought you were Gwen Stefani" to "he thought you were someone else"

Wish they had kept that. This movie has so many deleted/alternate takes it's not even funny.

yeah they shoud have kept the Connor´s home offfice scene
where peter writes the algoritm on the blackboard and where Connors says that and now that i think about it in the videogame Peter says "Ready to play god" and the thing about Connor´s family soo bad that they change it:csad:

Ya know, Webb said he wasn't doing a director's cut... but does that mean that the version on the DVD/Blu-Ray has to be the same one we saw in theaters? ;)

where he said that? are we getting any extended version? or deleted scenes?

I said this in another thread, but I honestly feel that the things that were cut wouldn't make that much of a difference in terms of the overall quality of the film. The story flows fine as-is, and the film is great as-is, but the inclusion of the cut material would have nevertheless made the story flow better (because that's just the nature of things; the more you're able to include, the better the story flows)

I can't disagree with you more on this point. A story's flow is just as much about the exclusion of certain things as it is about the inclusion of certain things. Good storytelling, especially in movies, is about making those crucial decisions.

can you provide a link please??? i'm just curious :wow:

Marc Webb already said that there will be deleted scenes on the DVD/Blu-ray release. I think he said there were 3 or 4. But I feel like there'll be more than that.

Having watched the film, I'm actually glad the supposed "untold story" regarding how Peter's father may have played some role in his getting powers ended up being getting edited (although given the prologue at the beginning it still implies there is SOME connection). After all, this film is already juggling three subplots--Peter's origin as Spider-Man, the romance between him and Gwen Stacy, and Dr. Connors becoming the Lizard--along with an unresolved fourth--Peter tracking down his Uncle's killer--that adding a FIFTH one would just crowd the movie and needlessly interrupt the other plots. And honestly, the only reasons why the filmmakers would even still include it is to resolve what happens to Dr. Rafta--who is an entirely superfluous character anyway--and explain how Peter was able to survive and gain powers from the spider bite, which just needlessly complicates his origin. Of course, the parents angle is obviously going to be saved for the sequel, probably to be used for an "Empire Strikes Back" style revelation by Norman Osborn in which he can reveal Peter is really Richard Parker's clone or some such nonsense. After all, you could say that the whole "you look just like your father" allusions can be made to be literally true in Peter's case.

Also, anyone else get the feeling that the news article of Peter's parents dying in a plane crash was added into the film? Because if Peter knows that his mom and dad died, why would he even angrily ask Uncle Ben "How come my father isn't here to tell me [about responsibility] himself?"

If the article wasn't added and was there originally it could be because he feels his father up and left him and went and died. If he didn't just leave one night he never would of been on the plane.
