...Because he was probably stunned...? Considering he basically got tased and grounded...? And there's policemen with guns pointed at his head whilst he's cuffed, maybe...?

That's what I mean. In this film, of course he's going to get face time so he can make more money, but they write reasons for why he takes it off (i.e. -- my previous post). It's much easier to digest that way.

Whereas in the Raimi films, they didn't give any reason for it, and it was a blatant attempt at showing the actor's face just so he could make more money.

This post is nonsense.

Whatever..

Point is,you are bashing the most successful superhero trilogy to date just because of one questionable unmasking(And the only mistake they made was they didnt put a gash on his cheek to make it more believable)

You say they did it for more face value and money, sorry to say but it looks more so in the new movie

Whatever..

Very mature way to brush aside what somebody's said when you don't really have much else to offer.

Not once did I bash Raimi's trilogy or say that the unmaskings were done for more face time and money.

TheWiseGuy487 said this, not Troy.

.

Not that

Point is,we havent seen the movie,I cant possibly know whether he was Tased or stunned or shot at Can I?

So I cant answer your argument until I see the movie

This is why the SM boards have gone to **** and replaced the bat boards in the dumb department.

It's funny though the lengths people go to make excuses for something that is the exact same for what they are bashing. I'm not referring to one person or one incident. This has been going on for a while now.

I'm beginning to think more and more that most guys here haven't read ultimate spider-man. Pete had quite the tough time keeping his mask on and concealing his identity. It kind of drives the point home that he's a teenager and trying to live a double life is a pretty daunting task for him.

I mean honestly, Peter has the greater half of the NYPD after him, a monster who knows who he is, plus a girlfriend he's confiding in. Now think how hard it would be for a teenage kid to keep his identity a secret, given those circumstances and also the fact that he's never done it before. I really don't see the problem.

And as much as I'm not a fan of the Raimi films, I never remembered the unmaskings to be all that distracting. I'm referring to 1 and 2 of course, I kind of just write off 3. It's just going to happen, and as far as everything else goes when critiquing this film, I would think unmasking Spidey would be very low on the list. The fact that there was an actual purpose behind it in the new bridge scene says something to the integrity of the character andit's very welcome.

I implore all to look past your obvious desire to see nothing but the mask on screen and accept the fact that unmasking happens in the comics and there actually is a person under that thing. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be ok.

I take it you haven't seen anything past the teaser trailer. It's a little hard to see, but you can see the electric thing that was shot at Spidey in the second picture.

If you want to argue...as soon as the mask is pulled off he looks up with a determined face and instantly reacts. If he was stunned then he would not be able to react.

It's a dumb argument anyways.

I've seen every footage I could get my hands on from the Internet

We can see them firing machine guns,I take it a taser or stun gun looks differently?

But I think you're right, they are no bullet shots on his body so he was probably stunned/Tased

Doesn't his spider-sense kick in when his identity's at risk? Maybe it "brings him back"?

Besides, my point was that I don't think that Peter's going to be making any rash decisions when he's handcuffed, can't really see what's going on AND there's a guy with a big ass gun pointed at his head literally a few centimeters from where he is. Super reflexes or not, there's no easy way out of that.

I say we see this movie first before we start comparing it to other movies...trailers notoriously use footage not used in films...we could be debating a sequence that doesn't appear in the movie...like the mechanical web spinners from the first Raimi trailers

Eh, the police unmasking seems to be something important. And considering it's appeared in 2 trailers now, I'm gonna go ahead and say that it's gonna be in the final cut. But I do see what you mean.

For argument's sake, he was only "stunned" (from the taser and his fall) long enough for the police to surround him and cuff him. At that point, he's got several guns pointed at his head - there isn't much that he can do then; he's fast but he can't dodge several automatic rifles at point blank range. It's when the mask is pulled and their defenses are down that he sees his opening to move.

If his spider sense was going he would have reacted before the mask was taken off or better yet, he wouldn't have been tased.

The guys are pointing guns at him when his mask gets taken off so the guns are still pointed at him. It's just as rash to react before as it is after the fact as the guns are still pointed at his face.

Exactly. Thank you.

Yeah but when he's getting unmasked, he either has to react or not and comply to being completely revealed to everyone.

They cant make his Spider-Sense so strong that he dodges everything, that would make things boring

As for reacting after being unmasked, its stupid but I guess he thought '**** just got real' It would be disastrous if he is recognized

Anyway,I dont care,Its is followed by a great action sequence
