Neither was I...mostly with the third though....the execution with 2 was spot on for me. The MJ/Peter relationship was...well...not too good in 3...the drama seemed forced, MJ acted like a selfish *****, but it improved at the point where Peter embarrassed her in the cafe and hit her by accident. I felt things got a bit more serious there and it gave the ending scene of them hugging and dancing a bit more weight for me.

Word. I really did feel that her complaints weren't valid in the 3rd one..minus Peter kissing Gwen, she had no reason to be on him like that..None. I still hate that we were always TOLD that MJ was the perfect woman for him as opposed to SEEING it, which was always bad writing to me because you're always told to show and not tell.

EXACTLY! Peter always says "she's the girl of my dreams", but I never saw a point where they seemed perfect for one another when they were sharing scenes as Peter and MJ...it came close in the first, but the second was spent with MJ trying to make Peter jealous of her impending marriage, and the 3rd, when they were finally together, was overwrought with negativity and anger...it didn't seem like a very good relationship at all. And the Peter kissing Gwen thing was such a stupid addition...one of my huge gripes with the film. I could never see Raimi's Peter as a guy who would do something so selfish, whether he's riding high on life or not...it's completely out of character. Any guy would know that kissing another woman IN FRONT OF YOUR GIRLFRIEND is just idiotic.

Hell, not just Rami's Peter, Peter in general. He wouldn't do that. He'd front like he had a cold or say something like "My mom gets worried if I start kissing random girls after 1pm." He'd find some way out of it in a typical Peter way. MJ shouldn't have been jealous of Peter's fame as spider-man because she's seen firsthand how life normally kicks this guy in the butt constantly, why not be happy for the guy that he's getting the respect and love that you've always felt he deserved? You're right that in 1, they came close to showing that because they had some tender moments in the hospital and in the backyard, alluding to the fact that Peter understood her better than anyone else but did she understand him? I can understand her moving on in Spider-man 2, I know some of my friends had issues with how she acted and I see you do to, but I've been in that situation where you can't be with the person you want to be with yet they're still a part of your life and it's a tough situation to handle. She did make the age old mistake of moving on for the sake of moving on though but even then, any interaction they had, she was coming down on him instead of trying to UNDERSTAND why he was acting like he was, why he felt like they couldn't be together.

anything did it show any new footage, was it like a prologue of sorts like how they did with the Batman movies? or is it just a sizzle reel?

Wasn't a prologue at all. It was the same sizzle from the February event, just with finished FX and the 3D was amazing.

LOL I would've actually loved that 1pm line. The whole ending of SM2 basically threw in our face that MJ was ready to accept the life that comes with being with Peter...and that was in character for her. She's done that in the comics, and has evolved from the selfish girl to the accepting, self-sacrificing woman that is Peter's soulmate. However, the movies seemed to reverse it...she went from self sacrificing and accepting to selfish in a very short span in 3. The whole issue of moving on in 2, I can get behind that. Peter was all over the place and didn't know what he wanted, so why waste time waiting? It's completely understandable and perfectly realistic, especially when she gave Peter so many chances.

Yeah, he had his chance, he decided not to go that route and he was unreliable even as a friend, I'd move on too, but again, for someone who loves him so much, talk to the dude in the 3rd one lol. I mean, you're right, she said she could handle it but it seems like the one thing she couldn't handle is him having more success than she was having so instead of focusing on how good of a husband Pete would be, what in the hell kinda wife would MJ have been if she can't deal with her husband having success when she's in a down period? She turned to Harry for no good freaking reason, just because she felt like Peter wasn't understanding her. And you've been with the guy for a while but known him forever, you really want to get jealous because a woman is touching his jacket? lol come on man, I hate fake drama. There's enough drama in them dealing with this new relationship without having to resort to cliche drama like MJ all of a sudden becoming this jealous shrew. And like we both said, Pete acting like an a-hole BEFORE the symbiotie is completely out of character. The dude can be obnoxious and short sighted and oblivious but not an a-hole. They turned him into a typical guy and turned MJ into a weak woman

I've always loved Kirsten Dunst. But her MJ character is so damn dry and dull! She's the biggest cock-tease ever, throughout the whole series! When Peter slapped her in Spidey 3 I was so cheering. It created enormous laughter in the theater haha.

This cat in my theater said "Damn right son, slap that b****"

Yeah if that Gwen kiss had occurred while he was under the influence, then I could understand him being a total jerk. In the end, both sides were total negative screwballs when they didn't have a valid reason to be written as such. Came outta the blue. We haven't seen much of Emma and Andrew's scenes together, but the scene in the hallway where he asks her out seemed very cute...there's definitely a lot of chemistry there, and hopefully the rest of their relationship plays out the same way.

And that's not even to say that they shouldn't or won't have issues in their relationship but I want it to feel earned and feel real, not just drama for the sake of it.

Well yeah, with the rumoured
death of Cpt. Stacy
, it's an issue that's sure to put a divide in their relationship, and I can see friction that will spill over into ASM2...as long as they execute the reason for it well.

thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

hehe I watched Spiderman 2 last night
what a masterpiece..that scene with the train..just brilliant

going to watch Spiderman 1 tonight

btw only..if ONLY sony didn't force Sam Raimi to include Venom then maybe we would've had one of the best movie franchises of all time..alongside harry potter and the dark knight trilogy..dont forget lord of the rings..
but I think the change would help the franchise..getting a fresh start, giving youngers stars chance to shine..and a better story without the sony interfering too much..especially Andrew Garfield..he's such a great actor he deserved this role in my opinion..I think he would nail any sad scenes in movie

The symbiote, nor Venom should've been present in SM-3. They should've just had Eddie Brock in it, as Peters "rival" at the Bugle. Than in a later spiderman film, turn him into Venom. And first in SM-4 they should've introduced the symbiote - and done it RIGHT!

I wanna see Peter having the symbiote STUCK to him throughout a whole movie, and just see him battle his inner demons... Hopefully, we will see Webb do it just right this time around! Sm-4 & 5 should have been shot back-to-back. These two COULD have had Peter with the symbiote in 4. Than end it with a badass cliffhanger, turning Eddie in to Venom, leading in to Sm-5. Too late now.

Truth.

My buddy told me yesterday about the TDKR footage being shows at the MTV movie awards. I replied "Awesome....but that means I have to watch the MTV movie awards....."

I tried as much as I could without having to watch the awards once I found out when the TDKR footage would be on.

YOU'RE GETTING WARMER...."Venom"

Quote from Spiderman game in PS1..just before Peter saves MJ...:woot:

That game is A-awesome

Made me into a Venom fan instantly,he isnt protrayed as an agnsty or hating character.Someone who quips and wisecracks a lot and has fun with his powers
