Also, Savages will be a Hard-R crime thriller which will also be putting it in danger of failing.

I'm not seeing the logic to this, lol.
If anything, it being a hard R rating means that the movie won't hold back and actually be a savage. I'll watch.
well its not really about it failing..you have to think in terms of overall dollars they have and will put into it..it's a smaller crime flick which Universal isn't going to put much advertising dollars into based on the weekend it is coming out. I'm sure it didn't cost them that much to make it so they aren't positioning it to even come close to what Spidey will do, they just want the option out there for people who aren't into the whole "family movie trip" thing..it's the same reason they put out horror movies or things like harold and kumar 3D christmas during the holidays
I heard it is similar to pulp fiction so consider my ticket already purchased
Yeah, you're right. I'm just royally P.O.'D that TASM isn't alone anymore that weekend.'
I guess it might as well be though considering the competition.
However, there's still that lingering thought though... what if Savages dominated over TASM or worse, G.I. Joe from the previous weekend rules for that week with TASM taking 2nd place.

If you're going to get ******** about who watches what, then....I'll watch Savages on that weekend![]()
And mine as well. Oliver Stone is an elite director.
Add in Travolta and Del Toro and that sounds like a great film
Who really cares if it doesn't get to first place? It is almost a promise to be given a sequel and it will definitely have its fanbase and it will be a huge number.

I mean, you could always do both, right? lol it's a long weekend
Spidey board is full of trolls

I care. Because it not being number one that weekend would give Avengers fanboys and Nolanites ample ammo to throw iin our faces about how those films (The Avengers and TDKR) were superior and always were gonna be, even though I do want it to be a great film over anything else but I digress.

Who cares what they think?? If you like the flick and you're happy with it and it does really well, forget them. Plus just use the common sense, the flick will be number one that weekend if we are going off of the sheer popularity of the CHARACTER. Forget the naysayers when it comes to how they feel about the reboot overall, thats internet chatter and that doesn't always equate to real world chatter..remember snakes on a plane? Yeah that was supposed to be the hit of the summer if we judge it off of internet hype and how'd that turn out? Same with Scott Pilgrim vs the world..great flick but a bomb. I've said it before and I'll say it again: The internet isn't the real world..at least when movies are concerned
True. I see your point. I'm overreacting but come on.. are you telling me you wouldn't be even a little upset if by a miracle TASM bombed but was still a fantastic movie?
I would. I'd be happy with the film but still peeved by the performance (mainly because I'd wish more would've seen how good it was).
I still think Spidey will be the number 1 movie that weekend.I have some sorta bad news guys. TASM is no longer alone the fourth of July weekend.
Oliver Stone's Savages is now booked for that friday, July 6th. TASM will release 3 days earlier on Tuesday, July 3rd (of course).
What this will mean for the success of TASM is unknown but it would seem that Savages won't pose much a a threat to TASM which is still the only other new (and major) release set for that week.

There is a website that rates the trailers a week in advance or something right? Could someone tell me what that website is, and if there isn't one please don't call me crazy for remembering posts that dont actually exist.
