Yet another pic from the EW shoot from a slightly different angle. xD

Spider-Man 2 and 3's CGI was top-notch, imo, so...I have some faith.
I mean, the birth of Sandman was probably the most beautiful thing ever created by CGI.
Am I the only one who doesn't like that Sandman scene? It just looks way too cartoony.
I just hope the final battle doesn't have Gwen being captured by lizard or something like that. That was one of my minor gripes with Sam Rami's spidey movies. MJ got captured and needed to be rescued in the final battle in all three movies. Hopefully, they will switch it up this time. Also I am hoping that the new trailer will give us at least a quick glimpse of Lizard. I don't mind him looking kinda human but he needs to have a snout of some sort lol.
It's a big NYC myth.
I do. if I had a superhero check list then SM2 ticks virtually check box for me and I think it's too much expect this movie to do the same. for one the new movie has to tell and origin but SM2 didn't.
i have seriously got bored of spiderman they should use some other heroes
Agreed 10x
It's not me being a fanboy, it's me being a fan of Christopher Nolan since Following. He's an amazing writer plus an absolutely amazing director. And...his take on Batman is of an intellectual and original take.
We don't know how TDKR will be, but what we've heard and seen, besides the moaning and complaining of people wanting Bane to look different and people still bashing on the suit, it looks to be a major and epic story. Heck, Nolan got the influence from A Tale of Two Cities for crying out loud. I can't see how it cannot be in an epic proportion when Nolan is influenced by something OUTSIDE of Batman lore to give it another fresh take. And the fact that it borrows elements from The Dark Knight Returnst:
And also....I never said Raimi could do no wrong and that Spider-Man 3 was the best. The first trailer I enjoyed, but everything after started to put a bad taste in my mouth. Sam Raimi is definitely no Christopher Nolan. Raimi has had some hits-and-misses on his record, and that is what I am aware of mostly. It matters what a writer/director has done in the past, and Nolan has that leverage.
No, this is true, and as a Batman and Nolan fan, I can admit this. I wish there were some more explanation about the deaths Harvey committed. That to me, is a rather flaw that I wish was concluded better.
You think it has a risk of being a structural rehash because the villain was shown in the prologue again? Lol. That's grasping straws.

I think it was Sam Rami's idea to have MJ captured in the final battle for all three movies. It worked for the first movie, but doing it in the second and third movie just seemed to be over doing it. That was just lazy filmmaking on his part IMO. Though I am not bashing him the movies are still good.
I agree to an extent. Spider-Man 2 was the peak of the Raimi trilogy, and The Amazing Spider-Man is telling us an origin story we already know. I am cautious in my optimism.
Then why post in the Spider-Man forum? Who the hell else would they use, Ghost Rider?

Agreed, for the most part.
I agree. This is one of my greatest recurring criticisms of the Raimi Trilogy as a whole. All 3 movies end much the same way, which really got repetitive.
Well, to a point, I sort of agree that we don't need to see Uncle Ben dying, but I do like the different idea of what makes Peter go to OsCorp and get bitten, but when you do that, it's kind of a deal that you must bring in the death of his uncle, so, I think that is permanent if you like the idea or don't.
They do already use Ghost Rider, lol. Maybe no one cares because of Nicholas Cage![]()
Which part do you not agree with? That would be helpful in letting me know, haha.
Well, 1 and 2 I could've let pass. Sam Raimi brought in Gwen Stacy and that could've been rather refreshing to have her being kidnapped, if done right instead of Eddie going after who Peter really loved instead.
If Eddie kidnapped Gwen, then it would make some sense since MJ could've spoke to Harry which would've made her too busy to become the damsel once more.
Actually, if anything, I think we don't need to see the spider bite again. It's a plot device to give Peter his powers, but Uncle Ben's murder is the reason he becomes Spider-Man. Showing the spider-bite and not Ben's murder would be like showing Bruce's training but not his parents' death.
Overall, I'm concerned that audiences are oversaturated with superhero origin stories.
Mainly your opinion of Spider-Man 3. I would agree that the Nolan Batman films are superior to the Raimi Spider-Man films, certainly comparing each series' corresponding entry (BB to SM, TDK to SM2).
I think the "damsel-in-distress" climax just got old, no matter who was the hostage.
In some ways, I would say that if I had to use a potential comparison on things, that (provided TASM turns out to be the success that we all hope for it to be) itll be like this:
Spiderman (2002) =Batman (1989)
The Amazing Spiderman (2012) = Batman Begins (2005)
I think its safe to say that a lot, if not all of us consider the first Spiderman movie as classic since a lot of us grew up with that film as our Spiderman. I mean it was a rare moment in history for us since it was the first time that we got to see the character in a full length feature. That was the same case with Burtons first Batman. Granted, both films had its issues, but both were still well received by fans and the GA to a certain extent in my opinion.
Im hoping that with this new film, that they avoid making the same mistakes that Raimis films did though. Like others have said, the whole Damsel in Distress climax is really old right now in my opinion.
Plus, like someone else had mentioned here awhile back, I wasnt a fan of how a lot of Peters actions throughout Raimis films were motivated by his pursuit for MJ. I want both Peter and Gwen (and especially MJ in the future) to be able to stand out on their own as characters and have arcs of their own, especially for the female characters, so that they dont look like that theyre just there for the sake of being a love interest for Peter.
Im also glad that well get to see Peters Parents in this series and the whole issue of them having left Peter. I was disappointed that they never once really mentioned Peters parents in any substantial way in the past film series.
If anything, I feel like TASM will be able to flesh out the characters that weve seen before in better ways.
And Im definitely hoping for a less campy version of how NYC is portrayed, along with a realistic take as to how Spiderman would be first received by the public.
Overall, Im definitely excited to see all of this coming about into fruition.

"You mess with one of us you mess with all of us" makes me cringe every time.
Same here.lol
Heck, I can name a few other moments where I had cringed at seeing in the past films:
- The crowds reaction during the Venom/Sandman Tag Team Battle.
- The whole interview montage in the first film.
- The woman screaming crazy in Spiderman 2 when Doc Oct was climbing on the building; though Ill admit that it was pretty freaking hilarious as well.lol
- The way that people were like during the scene where Spiderman first fought the Green Goblin at that parade.
Yup all cringe inducing.Another thing i also didn't like about Ramis New York was how it was full of super models with large assets bouncing all over the place.
If Webb wants to make his Spiderman feel more realistic he has to have more grounded human bystanders....if that makes sense
Makes perfectly sense for me; I also hope that when Captain Stacy sees his daughter in a life and death situation, that he doesnt react so nonchalant about it.lol
I do also hope that we get to see Spiderman in this version deal with more of the everyday criminal underworld instead of always being fed constant supervillains (tragic ones or not). Im not implying that they should bring in a comic book crime lord that would fit the bill, but itd be nice to see Spiderman take down some every day realistic criminals and crime bosses down to really show that hes put a dent in the crime rate.
Same here.lol

Worthy

You forgot: ALLWorthy
1) Sleeeeeeeepppp *just thinking of it makes me roll my eyes*
2) We'll meet again Spider-Man (real RUTHLESSness there Gobby)
3) It's you that's out Gobby... Out of your mind
4) Just about EVERY frickin Speech between MJ and Peter, backyard at the trash can (should of been a sign to trash that scene) to the worst one of all the Hospital Twilight worthy CRAP dialogue
5) The Itsy Bitsy Spider...
And that is just off the top of my head in SM1, along with the others already mentioned throughout. And SM3 probably topped both 1 and 2 with cringe worthy moments and to a lesser extent dialogue.

One thing that I really hope they do is actually show Peter having to learn to fight crime. Like he starts off not knowing exactly what he's doing but he gets by because of his powers. And then we see him evolve and by the time he has gotten better THEN he ditches the proto-suit and dons the spidey suit. Kind of right passage for him basically telling himself: "I'm ready."
I think this is new?
