In the Comic-Con clip he stops a gang of thugs on the subway by just fumbling lol.When he stops the car jacking he seemed pretty cocky in his abilities.

Im wondering how long till gwen finds out peter is spidey.

My guess is about halfway thru the film. She learns about Spidey's true identity and then has to deal with her Father wanting to kill him or jail him or whatever. That would be an interesting dynamic.

Well thankfully, it seems like we won’t have to deal with Andrew’s spiderman going through a similar arc where he’s like:

“You and I can never be because of my enemies…etc.”

And how he’s still pining after all and making sad faces from afar, with the whole secrets and lies angst of: “Do you love me or not?”

judging by the pic of Gwen helping Peter when he has multiple wounds and scratches, my guess would be towards the end after the fight with Lizard. Now that I think of it, I think it could be after the first fight with Lizard or the last one, assuming that there are at least two fights.

Does anybody else think that we'll be getting something outside of the footage screening on the 6th?

I don't think they'd have this big countdown plastered everywhere each day if it was for a footage screening that most people wouldn't even be able to see.

A BIG update on the site, trailer tease, new stills (COME ONN, JUST ONE STILL OF THE LIZARD WILL DO!), new poster... something.

Yeah it's possible we'll get something from the footage screening...maybe a few stills or something but I am not gonna hold my breath either. Just gonna wait for the trailer to release.

Exactly. Which is why I'm thinking that we'll (especially the people who couldn't go to the screening) will get something too.

I think it makes sense to cash in on the hype the new trailer will generate. Update the campaign across the board. Put a few extra things on the site. A new poster. I'm hoping that's the case, anyway.

One thing that I really hope they do is actually show Peter having to learn to fight crime. Like he starts off not knowing exactly what he's doing but he gets by because of his powers. And then we see him evolve and by the time he has gotten better THEN he ditches the proto-suit and dons the spidey suit. Kind of right passage for him basically telling himself: "I'm ready."

Agreed. I'd like to see Peter have a very rough and guerilla like fighting style when he first starts out, not the agile and acrobatic one we know considering that, at first, he'll only be winning fights off of his newly founf streght alone and without refined fighting prowess.

I expect that we won't see him as full Spidey until at least 45 minutes in. I'm expecting the pacing to be like Batman Begins and that was about how long in to the movie it took for it to get there with his training and rough suit first outing and all that included before.

I expect TASM to have a runtime of about 2 hours and 20 minute to 2 hours and 30 minutes.


I would like to see it be that long. With the right pacing in the right spots, the film won't even seem that long.

SM2 was 2 hours and 30 mintues but it really did feel that way. If do it that way, it'll be fine.

I think there's a chance the trailer will hit on monday. I mean, yes its pretty much obvious that there will be a reel of footage, not just a trailer, showing at the screenings but not everyone will be able to see that so they might be releasing the trailer as well on that day as well, a trailer that will an abridged version of that.

I hope so. That means (besides appearances) that this new series will be closer to the comics. Rami's trilogy wasn't awful, but besides Spider-Man 2 they could have been alot better & alot closer to the comics. Sometimes those movies felt as if they were just Spider-Man in-name only.

Actually, the Nolan films are about as faithful as the Burton films were, so that wouldn't be the case.
When did the Sam Raimi films feel like "Spider-Man In Name Only"?
