The Amazing Spider-Man The Amazing Spider-Man General Discussion & Speculation Thread - Part 4

I can't believe that people think that Uncle Ben won't die in this.

I'm not doubting that, I was just curious of the timing. The trailer seems to suggest Pete is Spider-Man, out fighting crime prior to Ben's death. Why he would be doing so, I haven't a clue.

Maybe Peter has two dinners with the Stacy family, they mention aunt and uncle at the first, and discuss Spider-Man at the second.

Cool trailer. I like Garfield's exaggerated body language while in costume. It really really makes up for the fully face covering mask. The exaggerated body language is one thing I like over Maguire's interpretation. I think Maguire was a great Peter Parker though.

Is it really that hard to grasp? My bet is that he's out doing his underground campaign in his street clothes outfit (the one with the shades) and sticking it to small time thugs to try and put his powers to use. He may get the full on suit prior to Ben's death, but that's not really the point. The point of Ben dying is to teach Peter the lesson of responsibility with great power. He could be Spider-Man and still be completely reckless with his abilities. Pete saying that perhaps Spidey is doing something the police can't and getting in Captain Stacey's face about it suggests he might be trying to prove something to the police instead of actually working with them. His irresponsibility, in the end, is going to be Ben's demise since we know the car thief he encounters is the one who kills Ben.

It's not that confusing, it's simply another spin on the origin.

I love the closer look at the web shooter:

It really does look like he constructed them using old watches. You can see all the gears and the button next to his index finger looks like it belongs on a watch. Cool idea. They're easily concealable and lightweight. I love the sound effect they gave them.

Think about it guys. What is better, a HUGE Lizard or Lizard with a big snout?! That's a compromise that I can handle

I finally saw the trailer like literally soon I woke up 6am. LOl. Now I'm finally home from school and you can hear me blab blab about blah and say wah wah about stuff that probably already been said. But anyway just want to start off by saying that:

This Trailer made my F*****g Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its was amazing, I like how Gwen already know about Peter and hows Andrew really portrays the character of Peter Parker really really well. I'm very happy to see the wise cracking spiderman!!! :woot::woot::woot: I thought it was pretty funny how he was talking to the car thief and did that coll web snap things to him against the wall. I think that it is great for Webb to be taking the right direction with this movie talking, about Peter's parents and having Gwen in first. I also really like Dr. Connor's character. Webb also seem to explore Peter's intellect as it look like Peter helps him "complete" his regeneration formula that eventually turns him into the monstrous and deadly lizard.

Now I am pro web shooters die hard fan! I'm really happy to see them incorporated in this film but it don't seem to be web fluid.... It seems like it's like a laser like piston and it look like his wrist glows red when ever he spins a web. I hope somebody analyze this and took a closer look as far as his web shooters and web spinning style. I just really love the swinging scenes that was shown in this trailer. They are high-powered bright and looks really really good. I also like how they got all of New york's finest after Spider-man. He is really limbered and very very acrobatic. He also doesn't seem that stiff as the previous trilogy incorporated. But one thing they just HAD to do. A maskless spiderman...

Nevertheless I loved this trailer!

I'm loving everything about the webshooters. They look homemade, which makes sense. They show off how smart Peter is, which we didn't get to see too much in the Raimi movies. The sound is nice, and I love how they glow red when he shoots them. It looks awesome.

spidey was in costume before uncle ben dies it's the actual death of uncle ben that makes him fight crime. I have no problem with spidey being before uncle ben is killed.

And I bet those green lights indicate when he's either out of webbing or the device runs out of power

But if that wanted poster is in the room when Peter is making his suit/webshooters, wouldn't that imply that uncle ben has already died and he is just now becoming spider-man?

He could make the webshooters after Ben dies. or just be changing the suit. In Ultimate Spider-Man, he didn't add the webs or the spider emblems on the suit until after Ben dies.

I kinda think the red flashing will get distracting…think itd be better if they only did that as a warning indicator…I do like the puff of escaping gas when he fires a web, though.

I think the glow is small enough not to be distracting. I didn't even notice it until the second time I watched it.

In the footage they showed yesterday, he definitely made a makeshift spidey outfit, the mask, glasses, skull cap, jacket, etc and he goes out to handle some petty thugs..now that could be before or after Ben dies, they didn't make it clear in the timeline when it was

I've been wanting to ask you this....what did the VIP tickets get you?

And the trailer is still awesome, btw. :awesome:

Maybe that wanted poster isn't Ben's killer, but is actually Peter Parker with his hood on.

But yes, it could also be the killer.

I wonder if his web shooters will still work after he fights the Lizard and water gets in them

I too like the escaping gas or little pff sound the web shooters make. Also I don't think it'll get distracting, it's actually a really cool feature. I think it's cool how he hes what looks like a radar screen on there?

Interesting…could be where the set video comes from where Spidey is running through the street and hops into the back of a pickup truck…
