I've been wanting to ask you this....what did the VIP tickets get you?

And the trailer is still awesome, btw. :awesome:

Not a damn thing lol..after I reread the email over and over standing in line, I realized that the "VIP" tickets were basically normal tickets that the studio gave to sites to giveaway to people who weren't able to get tickets earlier in the week or whenever they announced this event. And I put that together after I walked in, went to the table with the sony reps and they said oh you've got your ticket so you're good...damn shame lol

He could make the webshooters after Ben dies. or just be changing the suit. In Ultimate Spider-Man, he didn't add the webs or the spider emblems on the suit until after Ben dies.
The way I think it's gonna happen is Peter will be taking out petty thugs in his street clothes and spray painting the spider symbol all over NYC to build up his cred. Ben is going to die at the hands of the car thief, but it's up in the air on whether or not he got away from Pete or what the circumstances really were.

The wanted picture in his room is a good indicator that he's not done with the whole suit before Ben's death since he's clearly sewing something in that shot. We also have the shot of Spidey pinning the thief up against the wall, which I can't find for the life of me. But I hope you remember which one I'm referring to. It was in a magazine and you can see the thief's reflection in Spidey's lenses. It looks very similar to the scene where he's quipping with him. I'm thinking that Spidey won't realize it's the same guy until after he get's a good look at him pinned up against the wall. It might even explain this inquisitive looking shot from Spidey:

I think he's figuring out who he is right here.

Maybe that wanted poster isn't Ben's killer, but is actually Peter Parker with his hood on.

But yes, it could also be the killer.

It's not..Peter doesn't have a hood on in his first outfit..it's a mask a skull cap and shades

Nope. It's 100% his killer. Long parted hair and shades.

So far, the only thing I can really complain about is that it looks like Gwen is gonna know Pete's secret identity. Everybody always find out Pete's identity, and he always gets unmasked shomehow. It's getting tiresome. I think the lizard should have a snout, but meh. That doesn't bother me too much.

I too like the escaping gas or little pff sound the web shooters make. Also I don't think it'll get distracting, it's actually a really cool feature. I think it's cool how he hes what looks like a radar screen on there?

Heh, well in the few times i saw it in the trailer, it got old, lol. Like I said, I wouldn't mind it if it were more of a warning indicator, so it wasn't every time he shot a web.

Uncle Ben is killed by the car thief you see in the trailer

You could be right, and that guy could be him who kills Ben, and be the one on the wanted poster; it's just that I didn't think that was the case because Spidey is cracking jokes, and if he is talking to the guy who killed his uncle, he probably wouldn't do that. Granted, there are more lines that we won't hear til the film is released, but it's speculation, as is the title of this thread.

Also, don't forget this:

We still don't know when this will take place.

I'm banking on him revealing himself to Gwen, kinda like how he does with MJ in USM. It made sense that Peter looked to one person for some kind of moral support while going through the whole Spider-Man thing and in both cases it's his love interest. It's going to be a real cool selling point of their relationship.

I'm even betting that the cop is going to intervene before Spidey does anything.

They showed some of that yesterday..he's mostly taking on random thugs wearing that at least thats what they showed. It's possible they could've withheld scenes of him confronting Ben's killer. And I think that guy is the killer especially based on that picture in Empire when Spidey looks like he's about to tear the guys throat in half

You know how everyone wants that belt right, well what if in this one or the sequels he gets an actual belt and puts his web cartridges in them? that would be interesting, and plus we would get a belt

Either way, whether she finds out or he reveals, she shouldn't know. She never did in the comics before she died.

I've gotta say the look of the suit from that trailer? Definitely sold me. It looks A LOT more realistic than the prior films. You can actually see someone making it.

Also the Lizard is awesome. Definitely Ditko-esque and has the snout.

Im pretty sure when Peter starts off with the prototype suit, he fights crime, but without rules. He's cocky, and egoistic, and uses his powers to impress Gwen (without her knowing he has powers just yet - just like with MJ in Raimi movies).

But when Ben is killed, he is humbled and understands that there are responsibilities that come with the power. And thats when he dons the Spider-Man costume that we know.

Lol. Just because something happened/didn't happen in the comics doesn't mean it shouldn't/should happen in a movie. That's one of the greatest things about movies like this, they're a blend of the comics and other sources... along with the cast and crew's own ingenuity.

I've watched the trailer a dozen times now and I like it but I have to say nothing really wowed me. (Other than Emma Stone's hotness) however I think that will change over time.

Also I wouldn't hold much stock in Gwen's line in the trailer. That may just be a different take or just a "trailer line." The dinner may take place after Uncle Ben's death and she may just say he lives with his aunt but I feel that to some people it will be confusing if she just said aunt and not uncle because you see Uncle Ben in the trailer. I just think they're playing it safe. Now it may take place before Uncle Ben's death and she does say the line as is but because she says it in the trailer doesn't mean it does.

Well, I know that. but one of the most fun things about the earlier Spider-Man comics was him having to hide his identity from everybody. And coming fresh off the Raimi movies where everybody and their dog found out who Peter is, I'd rather see it played the other way.

It just seems like too easy of a way to give Peter and Gwen a romantic connection, sharing his secret. Their relationship should stand on its own without having to rely on the Spider-Man crutch.

True, but I'd like it if it was gotten out of the way early in the movie. I'm guessing it'll be similar to how MJ found out in USM.

Probably develop tracers for the sequel.
