I'm sorry...but you're blind then. He's a costume in every game with Spider-Man since he appeared, he has his own toy, his own comic, and a cross over...in not even a year.

And no, he isn't badass, he's black Peter Parker. He's useless.

clearly u haven't read ANY of his comics, and if you have u prob onkly read the first 5 panels of the first issue, he has only had a costume in ONE Spidey game since he appeared, he is his own playable character in SHS Online, he is JUST now getting 3 action figures.... if all this would have came out the very month he appeared, then it would have been a bit much.

and u can't deny he is a very popular character right now, so it makes sense for him to have merchandise.

the amount of merch related to him in the amount of time he has been around is nowhere near as bad as something like say..angry birds, which in just a short time span, has something available in just about every form of merchandise under the sun.

I read bits and parts of various issues, so you're right in saying I haven't read one FULL comic, but I think I had enough reading experience with the character to judge him.

I was counting SHS and Edge of Time as costumes, but to each his own I guess. And the fact he's getting 3 action figures already is insane. There's no need for 3! Hell, the one above is connected to the movie line! Why?! Especially since he has 2 other figures apparently.

they are 3 different types of figures:

a 3 and 3/4th figure thats a VARIANT in the Marvel Universe line, a Marvel Minimate packaged with Ultimate Captain America, and a 6 inch figure in the comics series for the new movie figure line. and Hasbro ALWAYS does this..whenever a movie comes out they always have a "comic series" in the line of movies figures. regardless if the comic series figures have anything to do with the movie itself

becuase ur complaining about something thats popular having too much merchandise already when its nowhere near as bad as many other things out here that exists that show up out of the blue for a short time and already have millions of items in the form of every type of merchandise.

and so what if nobody mentioned angry birds? everyone else ALWAYS compares something that has nothing to deal with spidey to use an an example of whatever the subject is to get their point across...

His point doesn't seem to be about how quickly Miles has blown up, as much as it seems to be about the fact that Miles seems to be little outside of a black Peter Parker.

Now, Miles still hasn't grown on me, so I'm gonna side with socool on this one. I haven't read the newer issues of USM yet, so maybe my opinion will change.
