The Amazing Spider-Man The Amazing Spider-Man Viral Marketing Thread - Part 1

Each city has had a drop point that was revealed by clicking on the flight status, the part that says "Arrived" or "In Transit". All the "Arrived" spots have been picked up, the "In Transits" are up for grabs, and when you click on them you get the address. When the bags are picked up, the Escape pages go blank to let people know not to go there anymore.

Oh, I see. Thanks!

You're from Philly? Awesome.

So, apparently TASM is set in 2014. All the memos are from 1999, and Ratha says "fifteen years ago" in a recent clip when referring to all this information. I guess it explains OsCorp's hologram technology. :oldrazz:

I sure am, also a big participant in TDK's viral. Love this kind of marketing and have missed these boards.

I, too, am from the area. I'm about ten/fifteen minutes from Philly. But I'm spending the summer away. I also love viral marketing. Really allows for an immersive experience.

If anyone could identify the glasses that are in the briefcase, it would be greatly appreciated! :)

Just got back from picking up the Seattle bag! I'm very glad I didn't go to the loaction I thought it would be at, it ended up being in a very different place and area.

Just got home and am about to post pics on twitter and such. Woo hoo!

offspringofanimalsofdifferentspeciesthroughhumanmanipulation?

not quite sure what to do with it though...

Hmm, 24 tickets sure isn't a lot. When I picked up my bag I gave out my e-mail address and was told I would get a ticket to an advanced screening through that. I hope I get an e-mail before July, 2nd so I know not to try and get them at the give out location.

geez. the entire time they didn't have ANYTHING happen in Chicago but for for the final even 24 tickets available for the an advance screening of the film...

Maybe they'll see these and give themselves some funding or something for a better "prize" for the finish line (particularly for the people that were ACTUALLY involved with it) if they do an ARG for Spider-Man 2... Not that I'm not grateful, but I think pretty much everyone understands what I mean and agrees.

24 pairs of tickets? Are the screenings in someone's living room?

The screenings won't be exclusive to us.

My local radio station was giving away passes to, presumably, the same screening this morning. Those types of giveaways, plus the viral attendance, plus whatever other invites are going out will likely make the theater full.

Most likely what will happen is this,

At 7:30pm the tickets will become available.
Then you get your ticket
Then you are given ample time to get to the MIDNIGHT screening of Spider-man, along with the other spider-man fans that bought there tickets in advance

Sorry, to say,....

But this viral has been "meh" compared to TDK viral.

come on 42E, you know you can do better.

I actually saw this screening on a website that gives out info on early movie screenings. I didn't know it was tied in with the viral marketing though. I'd love to see it for free that monday but man, I'm supposed to see it the very next day at the exact same time..hmmm

Where are you guys getting the idea that the tickets are going to be released at 7:30 pm?

The screenings are at 7:30 pm. The screenings have actually been available on gofobo for a few weeks now and they're listed as "secret screenings" with a start time of 7:30 pm. The tickets will be available during the day prior to 7:30 pm.

Dang, was looking forward to the virals ending in advanced screenings which they did, but only a day in advanced. I am not even sure these are IMAX screenings and I already bought my midnight IMAX 3D tickets at the Metreon in SF. Guess I will have to pass. It is looking like TDKR screenings are only a day in advance as well and I already have those midnight IMAX tickets so I will be skipping that as well.

Updated with pick up times and theaters for the early screenings tonight.

Since I picked up Richard Parker's bag here in Seattle I got my passes in an e-mail just now. Super excited for this, even though it's not much of an advanced screening. Also, I don't think it's in 3D which kinda sucks because I do want to see this in 3D. But I'll probably see it a bunch of times so it's okay.
