OK, I'll contribute to the debate then:

You're an ass.

I may agree with you on many points about Raimi's films, but many times, you seem like a spoiled little prick. And you probably are one.
That wasn't very nice, but not far from the truth.
Have a nice day.
You have a nice day, as well. But I'm not allowed to play with you, because you say bad words. :yay:

I agree completely. But you have to think about it, in about a 2 hour movie, are they really going to have Mysterio driving Peter to the point of insanity, only to have the final battle something as simple as Peter finally seeing past all of the illusions, and just punching Mysterio a few times, and having Beck concede? lol
Exactly my point, then there's the threat factor, how dangerous is Mysterio (I say zero) what type of battles will ensue (I say a bunch of hokey ones), how do you bring some sort of complexity to a character who's a visual effects wiz/stunt man from Hollywood?

The debate is still going on?

Jesus Christ, I tried to end it last night. Did KAW not take my parting words on the subject and kept going? Or did someone rattle the cages again? C'mon guys, you know that KAW is going to think he's right until doomsday, that's why I decided to give up on the "discussion".

But we're talking about Mysterio now, and you've ruined it.

Here's how you go about having OsCorp "create" villains...in his first comic appearance, Green Goblin was trying to take over the New York crime syndicates. Adapt something similar for the next movie or two. You could spread my idea over 2 and 3 or whatever.

Introduce a competitor to OsCorp like Smythe. Have Osborn first enter Smythe's facilities to find plans to some military-grade technology. Then have him kidnap some of Smythe's engineers and weaponsmakers. He forces them to build the Smyth tech, then Norman leaks it to the New York underworld. It'd be a good way to introduce say, Shocker, and give Norman a bigger role.

To me this would be how you bring Spider-Man and the Goblin into conflict as well.

I like that idea!

Msyterio is one of Spidey's most well known foes for a reason. And thish as been proven time and time again in the comics. Trust me, it wasn't all just Spidey punching Mysterio, then it was over. Nope, it was more than that. Don't get me wrong, if Spidey gets his hands on Beck (and he has in thecomics), it's over. However, he's done a lot more than people think.

I agree.

He's talking about the comic books, I'm saying how do you go about putting Mysterio in the movie, without him seeming hokey, based on his holograms and robots? Not to mention him being a special effects wiz/stunt man from Hollywood.

You could have a pretty fantastic movie until the point where Peter sees through Mysterio's tricks. At which point Mysterio becomes full of fail.

However, he would work as a minor/secondary villain who's assissting someone a little more... urm, serious? Working to distract Spider-Man, while the other guy wreaks havok.

I can easily see Mysterio as the main villain in a film.

I think mysterio could be a secondary villain with green goblin as the main one, therefore when Gwen died people and Peter would wonder if she really died or if it was just an illusion

Rather than having Peter think Gwen's death was an illusion, I think it'd work if Mysterio kept appearing as Gwen to Peter a few times (way after her death), driving him crazy... and all that business. lol.

I just tried to reinforce the idea of him as an enchman, this time it would be for green goblin

So everybody thinks mysterio would just get punched in the fight would be over but people want kraven and the chemolien

Nobody mentioned the "chemolien"... at least, not to my knowledge, and Kraven would put up a far more brutal fight than Mysterio.

Chameleon could be a great villain for a thriller with his ability to disguise himself to escape from the authorities and Spider-Man. Anyone else like this idea?

Chameleon wouldn't need to put up a fight, simply put. Just to tarnish the name of Spidey. Sure, he would be as weak in a fight as Mysterio would, but the cops can handle Chameleon, imo; Spidey's strength would be up against Kraven.

The only way I can see Mysterio fully working is if they make him slightly more "Scarecrowish" I'm not saying he has to use a chemical which makes you see what you fear. He could just use a hallucinogenic in the smoke that surrounds him (which his helmet filters out), that causes those who breath it in to expierence their dreams (good or bad) while being awake. A dude who uses special FX (somehow in broad daylight, wherever he chooses) wouldn't work for this, supposed, grounded version.

It's more than that, nobody can figure out what the hell to do with the character on screen. Holograms and robots won't cut it, and with him being a visual effects wiz and stunt man from Hollywood is hokey as hell.

You like the word "hokey"...

But, look at my previous post.

That would be a celebrated mess on screen.
