My guess is that Webb wanted to give TSSM a nod, so he told Andrew to dress up like that.

Does Webb even know of TSSM?

Gwen talks with Peter

I bet the scene involves around something with the death of her father. Perhaps Peter was trying to defend Spider-Man, or suggesting she should not blame Spidey for her father's death.

I can really sense an emotional roller coaster with this film. We had set reports from Spider-Man humorously slapping around a thug, to tearful Gwen slapping Peter.

Wow, this picture really shows us how the tone of that scene is going to be. It looks great.

Looks like the movie will be a character driven one, which is super great.

And for the people who are saying they don't want the origin all over again, I understand but if this movie is good (which it looks like), refreshing and modern, I don't really care if they're doing it again. Because isn't this the character we all love and why we are on this forum? I would love to see it then. ;)

I think this'll be an origin story again, but that's only cause it's a necessity. The lil kids of nowadays might have heard of spider-man, but might not know how he came to be. Making a reboot, with no background just seems ridiculous plot-wise. And Marc Webb seems to really care about plot, he's even getting a sequel written already! Plus, every single super-hero movie (maybe not x-men) has an origin in its first film. It sets the character up. Skipping ahead of that just seems a bit much.

lol that's alot of assumptions from one "pic within a pic".

Kirsten had a similar outfit while talking to Peter in the café in SM2. But it just seems more natural with Emma. Kirsten looked like a grandma, Emma however looks aewsome :)

Well not really lol.
What we see on the monitor shows the tone of that scene IMO.
The assumption that this movie will be character driven, well, it's Marc Webb. :p
And the assumption that this movie looks good is because I LOVE the cast, the suit, etc.

The fact tha Peter is on his house roof (sort of a roof) and Gwen slaps him, he must be guilty of something.

^^ Agreed. Though, who wouldn't want to reference that show (if that's what they're doing)? It truly was an incredible show.

It was totally done intentionally and yes its a great idea to give a great show a nod.

From what we've seen the Lizard fight might also even mirror the one from SSM.

^^ Only thing is....IT SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN CANCELLED!!!!!

Lol, also yeah, it's a possibility. I think Lizard will be mostly CGI an will have a progressive transformation. Btw, with norman and Hary probably not introduced in this one, I see thm being introduced in the sequel and then Norman becoming the Goblin in the 3rd.

Loving the clothes. A total homage to SSM.
There is no homage, just people who can't seem to let go of the fact that the show was cancelled. He clothes are no more a homage to SSM than they are to the MTV cartoon Peter.
