I get that you're trying to keep us on topic, but this type of thing happens in every set pictures, videos and news thread. It's not uncommon, if you don't want us to post anything that's not set pictures, videos and news... edit the thread title to NO DISCUSSION. Because we've got a new thread now.

Do you realize how many posts with discussions are deleted daily out of NO DISCUSSION threads?

I know that it is impossible to never ever for the rest of time to not mention something else other than THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN in here....but I just deleted TWO pages of nothing but *****ing and moaning about SM3 in here. After I posted not to continue with that kind of talk I still had to delete another 7 posts made about the same subject. To keep people on subject you have stand over them for a while and constantly say STAY ON SUBJECT.

First I'm accused of being overly hard on people...now I'm being told to infract them......just another day on the Hype.

With all due respect, if users didn't go on random tangents about random topics (previous trilogy included) this forum would have been inactive for the last 4 months. I don't see what's so bad about an occasional nod to the Raimi trilogy if it pertains to this film. Comparisons are inevitable. I don't think it's fair to ban users because they present an opinion about something. If it causes a fight, sure, take necessary action, but to ban a user because he said he thinks this film could be better than Spider-Man 2 is a bit extreme. He never said anything negative about Spider-Man 2, but stated that he thought this could be better (which is a very positive thing to say since Spider-Man 2 was widely regarded as the best CBM ever prior to The Dark Knight).

We'll stay on subject when we have something to stay on subject over. Right now, there's not much to talk about.

Again, I mean no disrespect, just trying to make a point.

If you want this thread to be STRICTLY about Set Pictures, Videos and News... and NOTHING else, then change the title to NO DISCUSSION so people don't casually discuss ____. And if they do, you'd actually have grounds for infracting them.

First of all...the guy you are referring to is not banned or probated. That was a glitch during one of today's many problem times.

And again....if you want to talk about Raimi's movies....there are places on the Hype to do that. This thread is not for talking about Raimi's movies. If you come to the Hype to discuss THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN...and you find nothing about THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN that you wish to discuss....you do not start talking about just anything in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN forums until something about THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN shows up. You especially do not do it in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN SET PICTURES, VIDEOS, AND NEWS thread. Because then, the people who see that a new post has appeared in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN SET PICS, VIDEOS, AND NEWS thread come in here all excited to see some new set pics, videos, or news about THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN.....but instead they see people arguing yet once again about the Raimi SPIDER-MAN movies.

craigdbfan made a thread where we can discuss TASM news and make comparisons with the previous trilogy without worrying about mods jumping on us for going off-topic.

No one wants to go to the Raimi subsections because no one else is there. The entire Spider-Man community is in this section of the forum. Ideally, yes, any and all Raimi discussion would take place there, but this isn't an ideal world. This is a reboot and there will be comparisons until weeks after this film comes out and establishes itself as an entirely new franchise.

Your point about people getting excited about new set pictures and videos is also kind of besides the point. Reshoots are wrapping up and were gearing up for the final stretch of marketing. Brand new and unseen set pictures and videos aren't ver likely at this point plus the fact that there seems to be a pretty strong knit community of 5-10 posters here. It's not like the Batman forums where everyone and their mother goes to get new info. At the time being, this is a pretty small community so I don't think anyone is expecting new set pics and vids at this point in the ballgame. The entire forum with the lack of any true, substantial news has become a bit of a chat forum. That will change once the trailer hits and marketing gets into full swing, but right now, we're in a bit of a lull. I just think it's unfair to be hounding all over us because we discuss Raimi's films.
