Do any of u know why Gwen closes her eyes before the web catches her in the death scene? She was just giving up or what?

I interpret that shot as her having the shock of falling to the ground imminently like in the comics. I like how the scene is pretty much just like the comics in scenario, it's ambiguous. Did the web kill her? Was she already dead? Did her head hitting the ground kill her?

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was a mixed bag for me. I loved the production design, the relationship between Peter and Gwen, the VFX and action scenes. But, every time something was being built, it fizzled. This film takes Spider-Man's rouge gallery and pisses it away.

Norman dies…
Harry becomes Goblin, and gets knocked out after a few minutes…
Rhino has an awful cameo…
Electro felt like a Batman & Robin villain, who wasn't at all threatening…

The film felt choppy in terms of editing. Hey Electro, where did you get that suit? Why did feel like I missed something important at times?

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci can't seem to focus on narrative. They like to go off in different directions, then remember they have to tie up something, which they tend to do with a line of dialogue.

Building a Sinister Six film within this movie was an awful idea. This is not the Avengers. You don't have multiple movies a year to let the idea blossom.

just a solid movie. not in cap2 class in terms of action and pacing. also cap2 does have the advantage in not getting bogged down with a love interest. although garfield is a better spiderman than his predecessor. good popcorn flick for cinema goers but not overly memorable. his villains did not help with that. preferrred dafoe's goblin to this one but better than franco. this spiderman would fit in well with the avengers

I loved how Spidey felt like a superhero in this, but also a hero. He saves a chunk of people throughout...which makes the end all the more heartbreaking.

They don't even explain how Electro gets his suit? What about that thing that stuck to the side of his head?

The chip on his head is Dr. Kafka's doing.

The containment suit is from Ravencroft.

Why did they change Dr. Kafka into a man anyway? I remember in the 90s cartoon Eddie Brock fell in love with Dr. Kafka (who was a woman) and became very protective of her.

I hope the dude's got a sister around somewhere, who's also a Doctor.

I look forward to seeing if Dr. Kafka is as awful as people say he is.

Thought he was weird. Not really awful, though.

How about going in with an open mind, and with your own opinions?

They just went full clishe, like they did with Max. He's an evil Doctor, with a bad European accent.

Kafka was full on Mad Scientist. The scene of him zapping or draining Electro with his meniacle bad guy laughter was groan-inducing.

In the case of the Amazing Spider-Man franchise the love interest and relationship is a huge plus rather than a negative, imo nearly every other franchise ends up with that element as a negative aspect.

Yeah, I saw it as a way of him monitoring Electros power output

Just a lame question for the people who have seen the film: did they use Song for Zula in a cool way? Coz I liked the way Webb used Til Kingdom Come in TASM, as cheesy as that montage was.

Just to refresh your memories:

I thought that skateboarding montage in TASM1 was awesome. That coldplay song fit so perfectly in there.

They used for the date between Peter and Gwen.

I suppose it was used decently, but nowhere near as good as the Coldplay scene in the first movie - I love that scene so much.

Agreed, that was one of my favorite scenes in the film. It was a great way to montage Peter's new powers imo

A Gwen and Peter scene, in Union square, they go on a date and they get icecream. Put a little more detail in a spoiler.

They used it in the square when Gwen and Peter saw each other for the first time after they broke up. Loved the scene, talking about "ground rules" for if they want to stay "just friends", adorable scene, absolutely loved it and the song matched it so perfectly. One of my favourite parts of the film

Agreed.

And I'm so happy they filmed in Union Square for TASM2. Hehe.

One of my favourite scenes out of the two movies.

Actually, pretty much all my favourite scenes from these movies have been Peter/Gwen scenes, does that make me too sentimental?

Edit: the skateboard scene isn't really a Gwen/Peter scene. I shouldn't type at 2am.

Sounds cool enough. Thanks!

I'm loving this film the more I think about it. Not to sound to crazy, and I know people will disagree with me, but I actually think TASM2 may be my favourite Comic Book Movie :wow:

Don't forget to vote on the poll.

Not trying to bash TASM, I just lol'd so hard the first time I heard Itsjustsomerandomguy calling the skateboard montage a "Mountain Dew commercial". Good stuff.

Can't wait till he starts making TASM2 references.
