The Art of At-Home Movie Marathons

I've been a fan since I was 4. And no matter how many times I watch, they still make me laugh.

But I just wanted to do it once of nothing but Flying Circus

I just got through a Halloween Marathon

Halloween
Halloween 2
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers
Halloween 6: The Origin of Michael Myers (Producers Cut)
Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later
Halloween: Resurrection
Halloween: 25 Years of Terror

Though it was a bit of a cheat, since none of the films are 100 minutes or more. Starts to loose its appeal by Halloween 5, Which is an important factor of marathons. Once it gets to the point where it's not fun and you're doing it for the sake of doing it, it's not worth it. Thank god H20 brought it back up for me.

And as soon as I get the Boomstick Edition of AoD, I'm doing an Evil Dead marathon.

Or maybe a Sam Raimi night with the ED films, The Spidey films and the Darkman films.

 Bingo! H20 really does re-energize the series. It's part of the Scream era where slasher films were temporarily good again. That lasted about five minutes. :(

Halloween: Russurection, with kung fu Buster Rhymes, is a disgrace.

Anyway, I'm about to do the Giant Spider Movie marathon! Only three (because that's as much as the human soul can bare), but there's something so inherently entertaining about people running away from swarms of spiders.

Once every two years in May I do a Star Wars marathon.

And just yesterday I did a Back To The Future marathon(the second film is criminally underrated)

I've also done an Indy marathon, X-Men marathon, and Mexico marathon.

Never plan on either a Matrix nor Lord of the Rings marathon.

My cousin and I just did an Alien marathon on Friday,
that was fantastic

dude, I remember an article some years ago for this local movie magazine where the writer had possibly one of the most unbearable marathons ever... STEVEN SEAGAL MARATHON!

I'm going to do an Alien double feature tonight, Alien and Aliens back to back.

Who's your favorite Python? Mine is either Palin or Cleese. Ofcourse they're all great... but if you had to pick one?

Graham Chapman.

I like guys that can cover both ends of the spectrum (insane to straight man)

Once all the films are out on dvd, it would be interesting to do a Harry Potter marathon. Watching those kids grow up would be like a strange version of the Up series.

i like picking movies with a similar theme, or similar characters.
my last marathon was went under the theme of damaged heroes.
V for Vendetta
From Hell
and
Constantine

I just did the Die Hard trilogy (1,2,3), and then saw "Live Free"... same day.

I'm planning a "Action-Marathon" with 4 buddies of mine.

Had a Russ Meyer Marathon today:

UP! (Seeing a Hitler lookalike gettin it up the ass is the funniest thing you'll ever see)
Supervixen (Shari Eubanks is hot!)
Vixen (Pretty funny, the main actress has some giant eyebrows, and other things too of course)

Last halloween i did:

Night of the Living Dead
Dawn of the Dead
Zombi 2
Day of the Dead

I have a couple marathons planned, once I get the movies I need to do it.

George Romero's Dead trilogy (I need to get Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead)
John Carpenter's Apocalypse trilogy (I need to get Prince of Darkness and In the Mouth of Madness)

I always do an all-night horror marathon on Saturdays where we start at seven and go until five in the morning.

So none of you horror fans liked Romero's recent Land of the Dead?
