It's either Indy or SW OT

nothing comes close except LOTR.

AHHH I knew I forgot one lol

Could a mod add Back to the Future and Lord of the Rings to the poll?

I was getting ready to say how could you not put in LOTR.

Hands down best trilogy: LOTR

I dont know it a toss up between POTC and SW: Original Trliogy

then again lotr is a bit unfair considering the trilogy was written to be a trilogy...

I narrowed it down to the two Star Wars trilogies, the Indiana Jones trilogy, the Matrix trilogy, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I eliminated 'The Matrix' based on the fact it may be to confusing when I'm twenty years older. Based on that I figured the best trilogy is the one I could still see myself enjoying in 20 or 30 years. That eliminated both 'Star Wars' trilogies.

Between 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Indiana Jones' I opted for 'Lord of the Rings.' 'Lord of the Rings' was around for nearly 50 years before it was made into a movie and STILL well known in ALL circles. I imagine the movies will still be well known in 2057 whereas 'Indiana Jones' may not.

Original Star Wars
Indiana Jones
Back to the Future
LOTR

or The Godfather?

but Scream wins anyway.
Damn. See in my head, I've forgotten Godfather Part III but, that's an other option. I have the movie posters for part one and two on my wall...not a fan of part III forgot to include it. Apologies.

Original Star Wars trilogy-BY FAR!!!!!!!!!!!

Indy coming up second. Everything else is unspectacular in my eyes.

Indiana Jones has always been my favorite, even more than Star Wars

LOTR, while being extremely faithful to the plot, characters, and dialogue, was nevertheless much more grim than the books. The book had a sense of grand adventure and fun, in a way, while the movies seemed akin more along the lines of a fantasy version of Saving Private Ryan.

So OT Star Wars gets my vote.

Its difficult for me to choose between the original Star Wars trilogy and the Indy trilogy. I'll probably go with Star Wars, since that movie had an overall story arc, unlike Indy which was three seperate stories.

Lord of The Rings > Pirates of the Caribbean > The Original Star Wars.

It's tough to choose between LOTR and the Star Wars OT, but I've gotta give it to Star Wars.

then again lotr is a bit unfair considering the trilogy was written to be a trilogy...

That's why LOTR didn't get my vote. That and the fact that LOTR, with all of its glory was just an adapted piece. It needed it too, don't get me wrong, but Lucas came up with the orignal SW trilogy. He came up with the prequel trilogy too, but let's just not talk about that...:csad:

I'm not going to vote in this one. As far as impact, it'd have to be Star Wars. Moviemaking is pretty much divided into pre- and post-Star Wars. He'll, I don't think there is a single filmmaker today who can't trace involvement or inspiration back to ILM and those three movies.

As far as consistant quality throughout, I'd give it to Indiana Jones and Back to the Future. While both feature somewhat weaker second acts, they both finish very strongly and remain very watchable throughout. Same goes with Lord of the Rings. While Two Towers isn't as critically acclaimed as Fellowship and Return of the King, the trilogy builds from prologue to epilogue, and finishes strongly.

Other-The Godfather Trilogy

The Matrix for me. I liked all three movies even though the last two felt different than the first one... cause they were. But at least no one is going back and 'touching it up' or extending it.
