"proper genital compatibility" Teehee!

You know if you make them question or even think about their beliefs they'll just go nuts and demand to know what demon took your soul.

The thread is for worship :cmad:

Not for proper genital compatibility?

But what about proper genital compatibility???

I'm thinking we're going to get a mass edit in that thread soon.

I'm thinking we need to make a religious arguments thread but I'm also thinking that it'll be closed within a day or two.

Such ignorance in other threads about homosexuality.

:wall:

It's sad that people like that exist.
Senator Kelly: It's a war. It's the reason people like me exist...

:Gyrich Mystique transforms to natural form as Kelly looks shocked and tries to run but is stopped by Mystique's leg:

Mystique: You know people like you were the reason I was afraid to go to school as a child.

#symbolism

It isn't a good idea to have a bubble and that thread is designed to be a bubble. The idea is that religion thrives when it isn't questioned but the problem is even the believers squabble over the details.

Hence the thousands of years of religious wars, terrorism and murder over variations in dogma.

It bothers me that people still throw out passages from the bible to back up their bigotry. You read those passages, and they're absurd.

It's OBVIOUS that it was written by primitive people, they're OBVIOUSLY outdated bronze age believes. It doesn't take a genius to see this, you just have to read it.

Man, it bothers me to no end, that today people still surrender their brains to this.

I always just ask why they're so adamant about defending certain bits from the OT like hating gays and such but refuse to follow others like no tattoos and things like that. It's from the same section, Lev. I think?

Backing the validity of a concept under scrutiny by citing the concept, as if it's words are kryptonite against thought or logic, isn't very clever or convincing.

Probably because they fear getting shot down into the belly of a big fish for 3 days

You have to admit the basis of most religions is great. basically they give you a being that is all loving and perfect, but couple that with pointing out how if you question them in anyway you will be treated like crap and should be outcasted.

Yes, problems arise when people start claiming that they actually know what god's will is.

It's unfortunate that as soon as a Christian in that thread posts something along the lines of being okay with homosexuality, they get jumped on by people who had their Bible quotes and judgments ready and poised for battle.

If I was a Christian, I would lose my **** if anyone told me I wasn't a real Christian because I didn't believe gays would burn in hell.

I'm asking questions and most of the answers I'm getting are 'what did I already say in regards to something that had nothing to do with what you posted?'.

As Corporal Jones would say, "they don't like it up 'em".

A certain someone doesn't worship god so much as he worships a book. Every conversation revolves around quoting from that book and I think that's damn pathetic. It's a pathetic way to think, a pathetic way to live.

Those people really are the worst.

This is going to sound weird, but here goes.

I am a Christian. I believe in God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, all of that. But this is the weird part. I HATE God.

Seriously, have you looked at the Bible?

The story of Noah is always presented to us as something uplifting. God saves Noah, the animals, and leaves a rainbow as a symbol that he would never again flood the earth. Aww.

Nevermind the fact that God KILLED EVERYBODY ELSE ON EARTH.

And there's this..

Meanwhile, the LORD instructed one of the group of prophets to say to another man, "Strike me!" But the man refused to strike the prophet. Then the prophet told him, "Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, a lion will kill you as soon as you leave me." And sure enough, when he had gone, a lion attacked and killed him.
-1 Kings 20:35-36 NLT

And this..

But if this charge is true (that she wasn't a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father's house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst.
-Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB

And this..

They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed all the men. All five of the Midianite kings – Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba – died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. Then the Israelite army captured the Midianite women and children and seized their cattle and flocks and all their wealth as plunder. They burned all the towns and villages where the Midianites had lived. After they had gathered the plunder and captives, both people and animals, they brought them all to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the whole community of Israel, which was camped on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan River, across from Jericho.

Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the people went to meet them outside the camp. But Moses was furious with all the military commanders who had returned from the battle. "Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded. "These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves.
-Numbers 31:7-18 NLT

Umm, holy effing crap. If anyone did that today, they would rightfully be called terrorists and probably executed. Yet these are God's chosen people, following the command of God.

Didn't God say "Thou shalt not kill?" What hypocrisy.

Then there's the whole hell thing. If God truly loved us, why would he send his people or his children, to such a place. If you had a child that caused trouble and disobeyed you, would you throw him into a furnace? Didn't think so.

I believe in God, and that all of the stuff spoken of in Revelation will go down one day, and I guess it's the fear of that that keeps me believing in him, but I just had to post this and get it out of my system. Hopefully God will forgive me, even though I think he is a psychotic mass-murderer.

I wish there was an even higher power than God himself, who would punish HIM for all the evil acts he has done.

Yeah well welcome to God. He be cray-cray. Personally I still have issues with the multiple mass incests that happened, first with Adam and Eve then with Noahs family. If they were the only sets of people alive then that means that we're all crazy inbred hicks which actually explains quite a bit of our nature.

Here's another inspiring verse about God's love..

"The people of Samaria must bear the consequences of their guilt because they rebelled against their God. They will be killed by an invading army, their little ones dashed to death against the ground, their pregnant women ripped open by swords."
-Hosea 13:16 NLT

And this one's just plain nuts..

"Happy those who seize your children and smash them against a rock."

-Psalms 137:9 NAB
