Ugh, RIP Tim. Definitely one of the most distinct Batman artists. His work will continue to be enjoyed a long time from now.
One of the all time greats
Rest in Power.
My biggest question with the sequel is, how will the story challenge Bruce/Batman now that he's arrived at a place of understanding his role in Gotham and being a symbol of hope? What's the best way to test that? Without repeating TDK of course. I think starting there is how to start figuring out the place the story needs to go, rather than just trying to *insert villain here*.
My thoughts exactly.I really don’t like the idea of Batman not being older and experienced when he figures out there’s a secret society running the show. The reason why that story works is because Batman is so experienced that he feels he knows every corner of the city like the back of his hand. Everything runs like clockwork. He’s met every classic rogue 10 times over. He’s a well oiled machine and then there’s this big revelation. You wouldn’t be doing the story justice if you rush that for a year 3 Batman. Not to mention it doesn’t mesh with the early years power grab they’re setting up or the fact that we just got a full conspiracy plot with the history of the Wayne’s/Gotham “it’s not what it seems”.
A huge pass on the Court of Owls in this trilogy. Maybe if they return for a fourth many years later.
I don’t remember if it was Reeves or one of the other producers, but they attributed the art on Year One to Miller and I was ready to throw hands.Watching some of the making of bts. Reeves keeps mentioning Frank Miller.

Frank is just the go to guy for these directors. You can go down the list and his name pops up. No matter how much some comic fans complain about this, he is the go to guy for these hollywood directors. I still got some pages of that Aronofsky version somewhere.
Obviously I get why Miller factors in, but they were talking about taking inspiration from specific panels on Year One, and he wasn’t even the artist on that story.Well it's hard not to reference Frank Miller when you're trying to make a Batman movie especially early days Batman.
Nah, he sounds like he knows what he’s talking about. Probably because he does.I like Matt Reeves but sometimes he comes across like a poseur who has no idea what he’s talking about.
