I always defend the voice because I do think it works in some scenes but then I rewatch the movies and... oh boy does it get worse every time. Such a shame because Bale is, in my opinion, the most talented actor who play a superhero by a highly significant margin and his excellent performance is really undercut by it. Bale's normal raspy American accent is also fantastic and slightly deepened would have been perfect.
The scene where he first arrives at Ra's al Ghul's temple, Bale has a pitch-perfect Batman voice. Throaty rasp without going overboard.

His voice was used perfectly in BB, as he was able to adjust depending on the situation. But in the TDK/R, he just used it in every single instance, and it sounded way too comical than intimidating. I liked the voice modulator in BvS, but I prefer a natural voice. Keaton has the best in live action by a mile. Of course, Conroy is the best, but I know some of you don't like using voice actors for whatever reason.

Yeah, my issue is when he's interrogating people it makes sense. It's easy to make fun of but in-universe a gigantic man in body armour beating you senseless while screaming at you is absolutely terrifying but it legitimately does not work for normal dialogue and it shocks me Nolan didn't see that.

I thinj Pattinson has the potential to do a better Batman voice than Keaton or Bale mostly because out of all the actors that have played Batman, he's the one with the most vocal range. He always sounds different on all his roles and really understands how to create a voice to craft a character. So I really don't want him to reuse whatever Bale or Keaton did, I'd rather hear something new, born out of his own skills.

Thing is, the calm yet still aggressive tone that Conroy does has yet to really be done in live action. Keaton more or less just whispered, while Bale growled. Going the Conroy route is the Goldilocks of both

But that’s what I mean by whisper. I’m not talking about Keaton lowering his voice and speaking softer than Bale. I mean a actual whisper. Not dropping the voice down for it. What else can he do that’s different? An accent ? He has a trick up his sleeve, and I’m sure we can narrow it down because there’s not many options tbh.

Another option would be to crank the calmness to 11 and go completely monotone when in the suit. Flat out give him the same sorta voice as HAL 9000. If done right, that could be really effective.

You'd be surprised at how many things you can do with the voice. It may be difficult to imagine, but there are thousands of way of playing a part or giving voice to one character. That's why I'm really curious as to what a creative actor like Pattinson will come up with.

Seems like a bit of a simplification. You don’t need the Bat-megaphone or a baby impression to get variety in voice lol.

It's a fitting production title. They'll use it as a codename during production. Doesn't mean its actually a part of the title.

Also, it seems like Snyder is still the executive producer of this movie? Wonder how much influence he has on the whole thing.

Probably the same amount of influence Tim Burton had as a producer on Batman Forever: None.

The credit is there probably out of contractual obligation or just as respect and acknowledgement for the last major creative party's contributions to the franchise. It's supposed to make the transition from one team to the other seem smoother. A "passing of the baton", if you will. A lot of times, producer and executive producer credits mean nothing.

Hopefully none.
Indeed. One of the things I love best about the new Wonder Woman 1984 trailer is that it is finally all Patty Jenkins' visual style and the trappings of the Snyderverse are finally gone. Wonder Woman 2017 unfortunately was still trying to fit in visually with Snyder's universe and visual style (you can see it in the endless dark and grim colour timing outside of the Themyscira scenes. I feel like that diluted the film and held it back. WW84 is all Jenkins and I am loving it. I hope Reeves gets the same opportunity.

I assume Snyder is simply getting an EP credit due to some sort of legal contract back end arrangement. Melniker and Uslan had EP titles on the Nolan Batman films, despite no active involvement, because they originally started the development of Batman 1989 for Warner Bros. I bet this is the same thing.

I completely disagree. At the risk of straying off topic, WW was bleak and grim because it took place in a time of war. I don't believe that it was in any way "trapped" by the style of the Snyderverse. If anything, it would have been weird if all the visuals associated with war were incredibly colourful and fun. I think it perfectly captured the time period they were in, just as 1984's trailer seems to capture the fun and vibrancy of the 80's.

Anyways, back to Batman!

People seem to think PS is Harvey Dent....but wouldn't a shaved head lend more to the idea of a Dr. Strange or Mr. Freeze? Just a thought.

Yeah, war is bleak and grim, but the colour timing for Wonder Woman 2017 was over the top dark and reeked of Snyder's personal style. It looked very artificial and undermined the look of the film. It made everything look smaller and faker as it does in Snyder's films. Dunkirk, 1917, Saving Private Ryan, and Band of Brothers are all ultra serious war films and none of them looked as artificially dark and bleak as much of Wonder Woman 1917 does. Although the look of this film is bright and meant to specifically evoke the 80s, it is all around apparent that when left to her own devices Patty seems to gravitate to more naturalistic lighting, which is a major positive to me.

Agreed, plus other obvious Snyder stylizations like the same slow mo he did in Watchmen.
