He's mainly skittish and jumpy in every role I've seen him in. I just don't see him as a mob boss.

But who knows, maybe he'll be great. I just don't see it right now.
Check out The Night Of if you haven't; he's really subtle there, subdued.

Ive seen it, but he was a weird lawyer with a strange foot problem. :hehe:

He’s a good actor, I’ve just never seen anything to make me think he’s a mob boss. But we’ll see. If Matt Reeves likes him, then that’s all that matters, I just can’t see it yet. Which could play out in its favor for this movie.

It’s always been these castings which end up being my most favorite if they turn out good. A large part is having your expectations subverted in a surprisingly positive way.

Though I don’t know what that says about this film, as pretty much every choice is something I’ve Instantly approved of.

I’m digging that for the character If they are going the Long Halloween route and the movie’s set in the final days of old school crime in Gotham. He’s the last of his kind and has grown desperate trying to cling on to his waning influence.

Turturro has turned some great fatherly, dignified performances in before as well.

His character in Rounders is very subdued and dark. Turturro is a very versatile actor.

I love this !

This is firming up the Long Halloween inspiration. Good casting too. Yes, he does play skittish characters at times but he also can play the cool, calm and collected type of character. Nothing to worry about.

To me The Mandalorian looks bland and flat, so that being Fraser's most recent work has me trepidatious. Hopefully they'll shoot on film for The Batman, and it'll have more in common with his work on Let Me In or Zero Dark Thirty.

I really doubt this film shoots on film to be honest. Even Joker didn't shoot on film. And Fraser defends digital a lot on his interviews.

Didn't he say they wanted Jack Black or Jason Segal as Penguin?

I mean that was a year ago, he said they were looking for a "type", which is common wording to simplify casting. Jonah Hill definitely fit that type.
