The batmobile chase scene in BvS or the Tumbler chase scene in Begins?

Which chase scene is better?

  • The BVS batmobile chase

  • The Begins tumbler chase

Really?

It's like asking who's a better athlete Michael Jordan or Joey the 2 year old from across the street who dunked a basketball in one of those Fischer Price hoops when his dad lifted him up

Lol. It's Begins, obviously.

The BvS batmobile chase is some of the worst directed action of Snyder's career.

As chase scenes, I might want to enjoy them both.
The $#%^headedness accompanying the newer one makes it worse, cooler car design or not.

To expound on my answer...

The chase in Begins is more complete. There's the thrill of seeing the Tumbler in action for the first time (the test scene with Lucious doesn't count), funny and exciting reactions from bystanders (I've gotta get me one of those, It's a.... tank), more beats that add tension and ACTUAL stakes (Bats stuck on the parking structure, Rachel hallucinating in the passenger seat), more bad-assery (he's flying on rooftops!), a better score (Molossus, my favorite Nolan-era track) and more practical effects.

Begins. It had more stakes, thrills and excitement.

Batman Begins. There's an actual sense of stakes in the sequence, and it's shot very well.

The chase scene in BvS served no purpose, was poorly shot, and only served to make Batman look like a homicidal lunatic. Huge swing and a miss.

Begins, all the way. The Tumblr is still my favourite Bat-vehicle, and when I win lotto, I'm getting one !

Interestingly, while in B v S Batman lets loose with cannons against thugs (and pretty much killing a bunch of Luthor's goons) in Begins Batman's anti-vehicle mines are deployed against COPS ! those guys were probably seriously injured in the resulting crashes.

I remember seeing that and thinking that while Batman occasionally has to kick the crap out of police officers it's rare that he uses such heavy weaponry against them (although as I'm typing that I'm sure people are coming up with examples of when he's done worse ).

The BvS chase scene had the Batmobile needlessly dragging cars around like "Just Got Married" cans, shooting machine guns, firing flares, and driving through boats in slow motion. Also, Batman had already tagged the truck with a tracking device, yet still felt like he needed to blow his cover and chase after them because reasons (i.e. "We built a Batmobile because we had to have it, but didn't know where else to put it in the story").

What about that isn't overkill?

Does it come in black?

:woot:

The Begins chase is the greatest Batmobile chase of all time.

If there was any scene that made me miss Nolan, it was the batmobile chase in BvS.

What made me miss him was the cinematography in general. I saw TDK in true IMAX and it was ASTOUNDING. I had my heart in my throat in some of those scenes.

Outside of going against FF(2015), BvS can't win anything.

I think I had more fun watching FANT4STIC than BvS.

BEGINS.

What made the chase even worse in BvS was that awful headache inducing electro-orchestral music.

I don't remember the scene too well, but didn't that whole chase scene end up being pointless? He is trying to catch up to them and get kryptonite, but it turns out they didn't have any?
