The BATSUIT Thread

I’d keep in line with what whatever Affleck’s DOJ suit was made out of. I love pretty much all of Cap’s suits, but I don’t think I’d like for Batman’s to be made out of the same material.

It's not my ideal, either. I only brought it up because the other Mortal concepts had been discussed, and frankly it's a far superior design to what's been done on Gotham and Titans.

If I had my druthers Reeves' Batman would basically look like Cap 2's stealth costume but with less padding. I'm sick to death of black rubber and sculpted muscles. Snyder's design was a step in the right direction (excessive padding aside), but it's high time the suit's material is fabric-based.

Bang on

The Captain America suits are a step in the right direction, but something less padded and a bit more form-fitting would be ideal. The batsuit is clearly cloth-based in the comics, so something more in keeping with that idea would be a fresh change of pace.

... Nah. I'd really prefer the films never go in that direction. Not for Batman.

IMO, I feel like it's important to keep some sort of armor or a visual indicator of something like kevlar present for any serious iteration of a live action Batman. A pure 1:1 recreation of a traditional Batsuit from the comics feels like it'd inevitably look similar to what Adam West wore back in the day rather than anything properly cinematic.

Captain Americas stealth suit is on many levels a thing of beauty, but if something like that could work for Batman?
But its definitly something that could be considered.

Its hard to say which direction it can all look either really good or bad.
Im just more for a Armored look because to me that fits more with the idea.

It comes down to, do we get more of a Ninja, soldier or so approach for Batman.

Eh, there's a WIDE berth between what the Adam West suit was and what a $100m-budget film is capable of. Textures, seams, quality of fabric and engineering. A lot of factors at play.

Some degree of padding is always going to be necessary, as it helps the suit retain shape and definition. What I'm asking for is something more subtle and not quite a significant as what we're used to seeing. But I firmly stand by my desire to see an external fabric layer to the suit. It's not a deal-breaker, but I think we are long past due for the batsuit to be completely revamped in terms of concept and execution.

Interesting. Reeves might be taking the comic accuracy to a level we’ve never seen before. Great stuff potentially.

As far as bodysuits go, I'd be happy with what Affleck had, with slimmer padding and with the fabric suit NOT glued down into every crevice of the padding. This would smooth out the contours and make it look less like "vanity muscles" if you will.

Not that I wasn't happy with what Affleck wore in the first place - what he had might not have been my personal ideal but it was more than good enough for me, and if it was never any better than that I'd still be happy.

The Telltale games do have a very strong aesthetic, don’t they?

Pity the gameplay doesn’t quite match it!

I enjoyed them! I got lucky and mine didn't glitch as much as other people's did for whatever reason..

I do like it... but it’s essentially the BvS suit (which I also liked).

In action it’s different. Leans far more into the armoured segments philosophy, rather than the pointless sculpted muscles of the Snyder suit.

Also, far, far better bat logo.

I’d love to see the yellow oval and belt.
Can’t really see it happening though.
