The BATSUIT Thread

Really?

Because Keaton as Batman appeared supernatural, but then you have a guy driving around in a jet turbo armored vehicle, and has his own personalized bat shaped stealth jet LOL obviously he has funding and resources.

No **** that this is all subjective, but I was replying to somebody stating as absolute fact that Robert Pattinson suit is a better execution than the Chris Nolan one.

We haven’t even seen enough to determine anything like that, let alone how it looks and functions on the screen.

The jigsaw lower body on the dark knight suit to me isn’t a buzz kill the way it is for other people, never even found it to be that much of an aesthetic distraction either.

The lower body on TDK suit looks more streamlined and not like baggy cargo pants like the Robert Pattinson one.

It was also obviously moto cross inspired which tied into the usage of the Bat pod motorcycle.

There has been nothing shown that indicates the Pattinson suit has a better cape than Bale. Not a damn thing.

We literally haven’t seen anything about it, or its function, or its texture, or its weight, or if it’s a glider, or even it’s length.

Because the best capes so far was the leathery heavy ankle length one for Keaton that looked like actual bat wings in 89.

And then the Bale Cape.

Which billowed in the wind romantically and like the comic book. Had massive length, giving his Batman a more monstrous appearance and doubled as a glider giving Batman abilities on screen we’ve never seen before. Gliding in between real world distances between buildings.
”stating as absolute fact” did you even read my response to you or what I originally wrote? It was an opinion echoed.

Nothing to show that’s it’s better than Bale’s cape? Look harder. It’s not much but “not a damn thing”? Check your eyes buddy.

Check my eyes? We have seen nothing ...

The cape is not in set pics, it’s not shown in the teaser test footage and it’s in the background photo shopped in the batmobile pics with no details or function or texture.

What ever you’re smoking, please pass it.

You can see the material of the cape in the screen test, and it’s clearly not cloth like Bale’s. So yeah, check your eyes.

Totally. I was just stating a kind of preference. For argument sake, I would say Burton's Batman is patently less interested in logic and naturalism and far more expressionistic. I'm not here to bash Nolan to elevate this new Batman. I love Nolan's Batman, I love Burton's. My biggest hope is that Reeves world is as singular and artistically distinct to join those visions of cinematic Batman.

Totally Agree. Not in terms of quality of movies, but in terms of distinct interpretations on Batman and his world ... Burton-verse / Timm-verse / Nolan-verse are IMO the definitive, and most unique as well as influential. Hopefully Reeves has a take that can be thrust up there. Hopefully like a nice mixture of Burton and Nolan. Not veering too much into either camp as to feel like derivative. Snyder suffered that bit I think, in combination with his take being too close to the finish of a beloved definitive take on the character. I hope it feels like the Arkham verse. A hybrid of Nolan and Burton and dash of the BTAS.

Ugh, I like this way better than the real one, except the collar. The bodysuit has a similar design without looking like a random future soldier or riot cop, and it still looks tough and protective. Gloves, boots and belt look great too.

It just hit me, the collar also works as a nice practical production trick too, along with its dope look and defensive aspects.

It can help hide the divide between the neck and cowl, so we get post-TDK head turns without looking so “disjointed” as the TDK cowl looked.

From Reddit: Final evolved form of the Bat-Suit if the one we have now is earlier in its evolution.

Yeah, I'm not a fan at all. It's quality artwork, but it seems to be an amalgam of a bunch of features I'm not at all a fan of.

I'd lose the pointy shoulder plates and angular abdominal designs, and just make the collar be close-fitting so it looks more like a neck.

I think it looks great from the waist down though - I really like what they've done there. It looks high tech without being robotic.

I had a dream last night that at some point in the film, Bruce would upgrade to what can only be described as a modernized Adam West suit.

I won’t lie, I’m a little disappointed that was just in my head.

Well some ppl actually refer to Battinson’s suit as an updated West costume. Cowl especially.
