The BATSUIT Thread

I love it. It's a work in progress, and is very much a DIY Batsuit. Absolutely the right way to go for a film that's got this tone and style.

I thought he looked incredible. Could have just jumped over pretty much all batsuits in movies. Maybe affleck and keaton us tied but I dunno.....seeing it in motion was amazing.

I think the Batsuit mostly looks fine in action. A little.....primitive and DIY, but that fits with what they're going for, especially if both he and other characters like Catwoman are going to further evolve as Reeve has alluded to.

The more I see the stills and look at the teaser, the more this bat suit becomes my favorite.

The leaked photos with the stuntmen and even the poster the other day always came across a tad bulky looking but it’s the perfect aesthetic in the trailers. Ditto on it becoming my favorite really quick.

This just goes to show you that you can't judge a movie based off of set photos. They did this suit no justice at all and I'm glad it looks as great as it does in live action.

The rough, downgraded look feels like it suits this movie perfectly and it helps that Matt Reeves knows how to shoot it, because the lighting in the trailer makes it look beyond fantastic.

The nose bit of the cowl not being prominent or have lines to separate it is bothering me

The fact Pattinson can move as quickly as he does makes this bat suit for me.

All the previous rubber wetsuit type bat suits have all restricted movement. The speed Pattinson is able to move at when he beats that thug up tells me it’s a bat suit designed for practicality first.

Thats also the only part that really bugs me and in some shots it looks like he has no nose, BUT I feel like it actually odds an extra layer of creepiness to his face.

Looks good in motion, I’m not sold on it yet but definitely a step in the right direction.

Darnit, it seems I can't use the thread reply ban feature on another mod. :o

Well, I didn't judge the suit beforehand in terms of polish but in terms of design, and in terms of design it doesn't work for me in the trailer, either. It's just not a good suit, in my opinion.

They nailed the bat suit. Just nailed it. It’s clearly got the same design philosophy as the TDK suit. Function over form. Tactical. Mobile. Neck-bending. Busy armor plating over molded musculature.

Except you know, executed infinitely better.

I love how they got around the neck problem. Need to move the neck freely but don’t want a pencil neck? Give him a collar guard. This way he can move his neck swiftly and still preserve the look of a wide ass neck. So simple but so Ingenious!

bonus points: no bat bra this time.

im going to miss the cape glide ability from Nolan series.. such a small but great addition

I mean we've not seen any claims he can't. Although if he can't right now, I wouldn't be surprised if that's added as an upgrade to the suit in a later movie

Meh, I still don't like the cowl. It does look better than the candid stuntman's version, but that was always a given. Just from a general world building perspective, in the better lit shots in comparison to just the rest of the suit I think the cowl looks like it's a stage behind in terms of suit development.

What I mean is at least from the waist to the neck, it looks like more effort was made to make it look a little more aesthetically pleasing as well as functional.

Overall the rest of the suit looks alright from the initial teaser. I don't mind the collar, in fact it probably helps make his neck look bigger than it is so he doesn't suffer from the same sort of problem Bale's TDK/TDKR suit suffered from.

I like that this cowl is so different yet it works. Imo the ears are long but not too long, the face has no expression yet still looks creepy and even haunting, its not molded rubber, mouth opening exposes the entire jaw and the head can move freely. Great new batsuit. And as reeve said, its just the beginning its homemade, and he implies we'll see it evolve. Which was a given. Just keep the grey and black tone please.

I can forgive a lot of nitpicks in that this is still a younger, early in his career Batman. He's still working the kinks out of things and still streamlining his equipment.

The only thing I'm immediately meh on is the army boots. I respect the fact that this is still year two, but aesthetically, they just ain't pleasing to me.
