The BATSUIT Thread

Sorry, but no...
Sorry but yes. Deal with it, Prometheus.

I mean, obviously we all have our own opinions. But nope, I much prefer the plating design we're seeing in the film.

I like it, but I do hope for more refined suits they slowly change the overall look of the plating. I'm not too big on the more...square and boxy armor plating. It still looks good and I can accept it given the suit's context, but still. Would be cool to see something like this as I mentioned earlier, by the end when it's truly been refined.

I think there's been a minor misunderstanding lol. I wasn't comparing @william's picture to the actual design we're getting in the movie, if that's what you were thinking. I actually really dig the design we're getting in the film, and would probably be disappointed if it were to be changed up so soon. I was just talking in generalities. Generally speaking, I prefer the sculpted muscle look to armour plated designs.

Depends on how it's done. When done right, it blows the sculpted muscles out of the water.

This looks great. Honestly might be my favourite batsuit ever.

This is a mess.

I've had such a love/hate with so since I first saw it because I loved the Begins costume so much. But as of today, this is currently my favorite Batman costume ever too.

But I'm also loving what I've see from the Pattinson one too. Two great batsuits.

That Arkham City suit posted above definitely feels like it could be a good peak batsuit base later down the line in this trilogy (minus the underoos and blue). Maybe a little more emphasis on the armor but I could buy it as a natural evolution.

So basically this artwork

Yeah, agreed. That'd top my list quite easily.

Does this fit your description? I'm not a fan of the cowl and symbol but the bodysuit, gauntlet, and everything else look pretty great. And it looks pretty similar to Robert's suit too (apart from the cowl and symbol) so it could be one of the ways the suit can evolve.

I certainly don't hate the bodysuit here, but I'd still prefer fewer sharp angles in the panelling.

All this armor talk, I actually didn’t mind the Tactical suit. It’s just the sunglasses that kill it for me. Maybe a tad too “strappy” if I had to nitpick too.

Honestly, yeah, of the various Snyder Batman suits, the "tactical suit" struck me as decent. Definitely better than the default one from BvS, in that it doesn't attempt to make Affleck looks as wide as he is tall.

Sculpted muscles only sort of work sometimes in some cases in superman's style suits, where they are supposed to be the actual muscles of the character.

Sculpted muscles make less sense in a supposedly armoured outfit. where they only works if they are there to make the illusion of no armour to scare the thugs more, like in the first Burton movie. and even then the illusion is quickly broken.

I still loved that suit tho.

The JL suit is hideous on every level. The cowl is ugly, the undersuit is cheap looking, the armor on top looks even sillier and way too bulky... and to top off the crap sundae... those goggles... BLEH! Didn’t help that Affleck was overweight at the time and looked pretty bloated and goofy in the suit. What a slap in the face to the beautiful BvS suit that came right before it.

Give me the Kilmer and Clooney Suits over that monstrosity.

Honestly no worse than the sonar lenses in TDK

Eh was never a fan of the lenses but at least they disappeared. The tactical suit.,..it's not like they look like workmans goggles, they just look like sunglasses and then he pulls them up on his head like a dude at the beach.

The worst thing that can be said about the TDK lenses is that they bungled giving Bats his comic-accurate white eyes.

Other than that, who cares?

The JL tactical suit is like a joyless, no homo version of a Schumacher suit.

Oh, so Nolan throws all you "give Batman lenses" fanboys a bone and this is how you repay him? Typical.

Never wanted them in the first place. Now, I'll say again for all of you who didn't hear it quite so well the first time:

HONESTLY NO WORSE THAN THE SONAR LENSES IN TDK.

They looked ****ing godawfil. You simply must accept it. :yay:

I admit that I also found the lenses to look off in TDK ...
A nice idea to pay homage to the comic book trademark but for me it remains a very questionable execution. The placement seemed too high and it looks too big.

Anyway, to be honest, I never cared for the white eyes. It's more of a drawing thing to me, pure graphic stylization, and kind of in the same territory that the blue hue in dark hair.

Oh and I feel like the final JL suit sunglasses just turn the whole thing into a modernized version of the third act extravaganza batsuit from the 90' schumacher's movies.

EDIT : @SwordOfMorning beat me to it.
