i've had a lot of pretty crappy Christmases in my life so i kinda just don't really care anymore
i also hate the consumerism and how ridiculous some people get when it comes to gifts.
looking back, i'm pretty glad i didn't get half the stuff i ever asked for cuz i didn't need it, and it was frivolous. nowadays, if a 12 year old doesn't get an ipod, iphone and a xbox then that means they aren't loved! whatever
i always remember my Grandmother telling me growing up that for Christmas they'd get a box of fruit and homemade treats and candies and they were all so happy and excited with that. she was one of 10, and grew up on a farm so they weren't rich montarily, but they were in other ways.
so when i hear about people whining about not getting everything they wanted or whatever, i just roll my eyes. like the twitter fiasco last year of all the lamentations about not getting new phones and the like and how they hated their parents for not getting them.

It's got to be the only thing I hate about winter.
