I think I'm going to go with Leone but honestly this is a tie for me.

Leone by a mile. Once Upon a Time in the West is still one of my favorite movies of all time. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, and Once Upon a Time in America are also masterpieces.

All his other movies are great too. Even though he only made 7 movies, he's one of those directors I feel has a flawless filmography directing wise.

By the way, I will admit this is my bias since Leone is my favorite all-time director. Carpenter is great too.
