Depending on the age of the new Superman, I would have liked Zooey as Lois Lane.
If she does end up cast as Betty I hope they give her a large role. I find Zooey Deschanel a far more interesting screen presence than Emma Stone.

She's had serious roles: Manic, Winter Passing, The Good Life, even Bridge To Terabithia was a pretty straight/serious role for her - in the 2nd half, at least. Those first 3 at least were far more challenging roles than this one, and she nailed those, so I see no reason to doubt her ability pull off Betty's serious side.

Not that Zooey has been cast yet, but I can't imagine why anyone would consider it so criminal that she auditioned and maybe even got the job because she worked with Marc Webb before. She's a talented actress, and it wouldn't be the first time a director hired somebody on after a prior team-up. It's not like this is the kind of thing where the dark, kooky director hires the somewhat-talented-but-usually-completely-wrong-for-the-role cocoa puff for absolutely every lead in absolutely everything they do ever.

if she is older than its barely, none of this 4 year stuff. and she was his firt real girlfriend. they even gave the excuse that she dropped out of highschool to work so they pretty much are the same age. can you show where it says she was older? im assuming your saying multiple years older that is.

I am thinking she was robbing the cradle. Even the drawings of Betty make her look a lot older than little naive Petey. It is really creepy now that I think about it. They had to have been more than 5 years apart from what I take of it.
