So...

How about we post comic book art that we'd think would be cool inspiration for the vibe and mood of The Brave and the Bold and the DCU Batman?

I'll start.

Not Bruce’s Batman, but this is very much the vibe for DCU Gotham IMO. If Reeves is giving us part gothic part noir, let’s bring a touch of cyberpunk…

Wish they could get Guillermo Del Toro for this. He'd be PERFECT! Either way, they should aim for similar vibes and aesthetics.

Actually, yeah he'd probably be a better fit for them tbh. They need to just bring him on board in some capacity, especially with the creative freedoms James seems to be giving his collaborators.

I think it will be a lot brighter than past iterations...and very fantasy based. I am betting on night shots and gothic sets similar to batman 89, but a lot of daytime shooting. It will not be nearly as grounded as Nolan's /REEVES versions...

Gunn hates goofy batman.

the whole differentiation from Reeves is even harder considering this.

They can still make something pretty different from Reeves' work without needing it to be goofy

It's already leaning on him being a father figure and prob legit fantastical ****

Yup. And very easily so, too.

Anyone who 's read a copious amount of Batman comics knows that you can do two versions that aren't goofy or comedic, but at the same time are very different from each other.

Which is odd seeing how goofy his latest directorial masterpiece was.

Loved Superman but it was goofy and fun and action packed. Going to be weird not keeping that same rythym if he does a worlds finest film.

The brave and the bold was good in its medium already , but a far cry from grounded reality or even gothic tones.

I see a lot of detective stuff infused with some Indiana jones type action and a culmination of slightly dark camp similar to burtons…

We have had a decade and then some of serious grounded Batman…

There’s a whole spectrum of tone when it comes to Batman stories.

You can go comparatively lighter and more suitable for the DCU/eventual JL without necessarily going full Adam West.
