Andy Muschietti: As everyone knows, the Batman featured in The Brave and the Bold will belong to the new DC universe. It’s quite obvious that Matt Reeves’ Batman is not part of this new universe. However, DC and Warner Bros. are moving forward with the second part of Reeves’ Batman series, which, as widely reported, is expected to release around 2027.
This means the next Batman movie will take some time before it sees the light of day. Releasing two Batman films simultaneously would be counterproductive. What DC is doing is creating a strategy to ensure these two films don’t conflict with each other.
Regarding my involvement in the project, there are good intentions for now. They want to do the movie with me, and I want to do it as well. I’m eager to work on the film.
Maybe so. Regardless, it'sIt sounds like he was just repeating what the executives told him.
One of the last movies of a dying continuity, a controversial star, following on the heels of a 9 season TV show with a fan favorite actor in the role, ridiculous over hype from Gunn, Cruise and Stephen King.
The Flash never stood a chance.
Ultimately, people care about The Flash. They just didn't care for that particular version of The Flash. Bring on Wally West in the DCU!
Agreed. And Stephen King's opinions are usually off-putting to say the least. One of the last movies of a dying continuity, a controversial star, following on the heels of a 9 season TV show with a fan favorite actor in the role, ridiculous over hype from Gunn, Cruise and Stephen King.

DC Studios is also concurrently developing The Brave and the Bold, centered on Batman and his son, Damian Wayne. Though Andy Muschietti was announced as director and producer, he no longer seems to be hands-on involved.
“We’re developing the Brave and Bold script right now, and he’ll be the first one to see it,” Safran said, referring to Muschietti while also strongly implying the filmmaker is not involved in the project’s development.
Gunn went so far as to say he was now the driving force of the title. “Everybody knows I love Batman, and it’s important to me, so I’m working very closely with the writer on Brave and the Bold,” he said. The writer’s name was not revealed.
Where does that leave Andy Muschietti? The Flash and It director has been attached to The Brave and the Bold for a while and Gunn and Safran said that’s still the case… if he wants to. “We’re developing this script right now and we’re going to show Andy what we have when it’s in a place where we think it’s ready to go and see if it’s a fit,” Safran said.
I'm extremely curious about the writer's identity. Some have speculated that it's James himself, but despite his heavy involvement w/ the script, I don't believe this to be the case. Having already committed to writing a new unnamed Superman-related project, there's no way he'll be able to do this one alone as well. You know, we have a writer on Brave and the Bold now. It’s going very, very well. And I am actively, actively involved with every beat of that coming across. So, like I am, I’m part of the engine that’s pushing that’s pushing that across.
I said in the other Batman thread that I suspect the project he's currently writing may be World's Finest for 2027, which would also make sense of his "heavy involvement but not writing" role in BatB.I'm extremely curious about the writer's identity. I'm just going off the clues we're given!
I don't know. Another mash-up film with a new Superman and a brand spanking new Batman from the outset feels far too reminiscent of BvS to me. I'm hoping for something a bit more creative and unexpected this time around. Strangely, I'm not even sure what that would look like because the thought of a straight-up ensemble film with Bats, Supes, etc., etc. doesn't appeal to me either right now. lol Maybe it's because I'm thinking in the abstract, and I can't imagine why anyone would want to bring these two characters together at such an early stage in the development of a budding filmverse. Ideally, the release of any team-up event should follow Lanterns and at least two other DCU projects not named Batman or Superman. That way, audiences get to spend a little more time with the characters before they move on to bigger events. I can see myself being more receptive to the idea if that's the plan, as long as the story is amazing.I said in the other Batman thread that I suspect the project he's currently writing may be World's Finest for 2027, which would also make sense of his "heavy involvement but not writing" role in BatB.
