i'm hoping your just playing around and not seriously getting pissed off.. because im quite calm at the moment... people can do what they want to do.. thats fine.. but if you post it out for the world to see prepare to be judged, its a part of life. and we've already seen he has great skills.. he did the annihilus base amazingly.. but i'm allowed to not like his venom and base if i don't want to... lol now look who's coming off serious?
you are allowed....
If I were to get seriously pissed I'd just leave, which won't happen.
So whenever you're ready to do better by all means bring it. I'm sure you're an expert in every form or art so it shouldn't be a problem at all.
dude im not trying to be better then anything... and im no expert... but artists do naturally have an "eye" thats different then "normal" people... i don't see whats wrong with saying that... i thought it was kinda common knowledge
And thats probably what those people are. Beginners. Quit expecting everyone to be well versed in everything they do.
bats... see i get what your saying "people put hard work into there stuff.. and they should be commended for it" but if we all did that.. then the world would be full of artists and the industry wouldnt exist because no ones work could be "better" then others... yes.. practicing is good.. but again when it all comes down to it, when you put your work out there for the world to see... prepare to get judged.. Ill be dammed if everyone liked me work.. i'd never expect that.. if someone didnt, i'd ask why.. and if its something to do with my style or quality i'd ask for tips on what they'd personally change, but if they just don't like it and art feeling it then fine, cool, its just not for them.
you get highly offened though when someone in general says they don't like some ones art... and i dont know why... i think its perfectly ok and natural for it to be that case...
The problem with you is you cut people's stuff up pretty bluntly. I on the other hand commend them on a nice job or a nice try and suggest alternatives on making it better. I try and give a boost for the person to continue working at it and getting better. You don't and thats damn lame.
im a pretty blunt person... i dont sugar code things... i like to be bluntly honest and strait to the point... going to art school you gotta be.. it widdles out the people who can make it in the industry and those who can't, if you can't handle it and turn it around into motivation to get better, then your not ment for it. plus when i do compliment, makes my compliments worth more...
no... but unfortuneatly.. you have to cater to the industries needs.. not the persons.. the industry can't meld for you, you have to meld for it. If you sugar code and "be nice" about someones art there whole life.. and they really arn't that great... and they try to make it in the real world, its just going to hurt alot worse with they fail... now if they've pushed through and always wanted to prove themselves and worked really hard.. there not going to fail... and if they do.. they will try even harder to not fail againYou act as if everyone is the same.

You and "the industry". Get real man, as if everybody thats doing customs or draws is thinking of that. Its people hobbies, something just to pass time with. And its "sugar coat".
You live in a f***ing dream world, you know that??
bats... actually.. its you who seem to be... the world of art is rough... real rough.. and the industry is hard.. and thats what i have to deal with, plus, if i have potential.. like some people on the boards i talk to.. (one being blksuperman (or something like that)) i do give advice.. but if i out right don't like something im going to say it... and i least say why i don't like something... im just trained (when critized) to take what people don't like and learn from it... i can handle it... maybe you just get upset because if i judged your work and didnt like, you wouldnt be able to handle it?
I never said it wasn't. But everyone isn't trying to be you and be "in the industry". Please, you are so full of yourself. Plus this is getting redundant.
I can take whatever anyone has to say. It doesn't bother me any. i've dealt with enough judgemental people in my life that I've developed a thick skin for it. but not everyone is like that. You can crush someone with potential by being such an insensitive jerk-off that way. I'm not about sugar coating either. I'm about uplifting.
uplifting is one thing, which trust me, when they have potential i tell them.. and tell them what needs fixed. But again like i said, im not about to commend or compliment someone or "up lift" them if there not willing to change, you have to take critisizm in order to do better, if you don't care about doing better then you shouldn't care if someone is negative or positive with your work. I'm mature enough to handle all kinds of critisizm.. and if you're mature enough to post your work to the public.. then you better be damn well mature enough to get critisizm and learn to turn negative into positive... its about growing up and not living within a bubble... a well rounded mature person should be able to do this... and if their not.. then they need to learn to be
Who are you to tell anyone what they nned to fix?? Just because you're some student somewhere?? Please, don't make me laugh.
Why do you act as if you are this know-it-all veteran artist that just drips wisdom and knowledge for all mediums?? Its ridiculous. Why won'y you get the point that not everyone is trying to be some famous artist?? You are seriously about as dense as anybody I've ever had a conversation with. Its as if you have blinders on because you can't see the big picture.
well.. i did just have my best friend and a roomate read our lil skit.. and they kinda think your actually the one sounding like a moron... I don't know how to explain it much more to you, if my opinion on someones art (when i am in the field) doesn't matter good or negative.. then why the hell should yours?
and btw... i never once said im a know it all... or "drip with wisdom" i know i don't know everything, but I dunno.. i am an art major.. and actually study art, so i would think i know a little more about what im talking about then you would.
Well what a surprise. I wonder why they'd take your side?? Hmm??
OK, so obviously my point totally blew over your head. God knows I'm not surprised. My whole point is there's ways to approach people about their stuff without coming off as an ass, which you do quite easily. I never said my opinion matters more than yours or is more valid than yours or makes more sense than yours. Never said that. Check the posts if you don't believe me. What I'm getting at is not being such a jerk-off when giving somebody your opinion. Its not cool and can be discouraging to beginners. We don't know how much work or how much practice or how many classes people take when they post there stuff, and for all we know it could be something they slapped together just for the hell of it or it can be some 10 yr old kid who's barely trying to express themself through art.
I don't know everything there is about art, I'm a novice at best. The truly great are hailed in that sense and then there's everybody else. There's those that have natural talent that needs little to know training and then there's those that practice their damn hardest but will never be as good. There's those that do it for fun, as a hobby, and those that looks at it as a long term goal to turn into a career. But I have the common sense to know that everyone is different and everyone's best is different and we should just take it for what it is.
Can you both agree that this Red Skull shouldn't be the Final Product?

Over on Fwoosh I said that it reminds me of something from Twisted Toyfare Threater and that post got deleted? What the hell is wrong with the fwoosh....The need critisizms like that....or this guy will keep making bug eyed customs.
