i'm hoping your just playing around and not seriously getting pissed off.. because im quite calm at the moment... people can do what they want to do.. thats fine.. but if you post it out for the world to see prepare to be judged, its a part of life. and we've already seen he has great skills.. he did the annihilus base amazingly.. but i'm allowed to not like his venom and base if i don't want to... lol now look who's coming off serious?

dude im not trying to be better then anything... and im no expert... but artists do naturally have an "eye" thats different then "normal" people... i don't see whats wrong with saying that... i thought it was kinda common knowledge

Just use common sense in realizing that some of the customs made are by people trying their best at it and not everyone has awesome skills to pull it off.

The problem with you is you cut people's stuff up pretty bluntly. I on the other hand commend them on a nice job or a nice try and suggest alternatives on making it better. I try and give a boost for the person to continue working at it and getting better. You don't and thats damn lame.

im a pretty blunt person... i dont sugar code things... i like to be bluntly honest and strait to the point... going to art school you gotta be.. it widdles out the people who can make it in the industry and those who can't, if you can't handle it and turn it around into motivation to get better, then your not ment for it. plus when i do compliment, makes my compliments worth more...

no... but unfortuneatly.. you have to cater to the industries needs.. not the persons.. the industry can't meld for you, you have to meld for it. If you sugar code and "be nice" about someones art there whole life.. and they really arn't that great... and they try to make it in the real world, its just going to hurt alot worse with they fail... now if they've pushed through and always wanted to prove themselves and worked really hard.. there not going to fail... and if they do.. they will try even harder to not fail again

bats... actually.. its you who seem to be... the world of art is rough... real rough.. and the industry is hard.. and thats what i have to deal with, plus, if i have potential.. like some people on the boards i talk to.. OK, so obviously my point totally blew over your head. God knows I'm not surprised. My whole point is there's ways to approach people about their stuff without coming off as an ass, which you do quite easily. I never said my opinion matters more than yours or is more valid than yours or makes more sense than yours. Never said that. Check the posts if you don't believe me. What I'm getting at is not being such a jerk-off when giving somebody your opinion. Its not cool and can be discouraging to beginners. We don't know how much work or how much practice or how many classes people take when they post there stuff, and for all we know it could be something they slapped together just for the hell of it or it can be some 10 yr old kid who's barely trying to express themself through art.

I don't know everything there is about art, I'm a novice at best. The truly great are hailed in that sense and then there's everybody else. There's those that have natural talent that needs little to know training and then there's those that practice their damn hardest but will never be as good. There's those that do it for fun, as a hobby, and those that looks at it as a long term goal to turn into a career. But I have the common sense to know that everyone is different and everyone's best is different and we should just take it for what it is.

The Skull does look funny but from what I've been able to tell this Mucci character usually has auctions on ebay and I think he pumps out customs just for the sake or selling them for profit.

As you can see at the bottom he brags about it. He's always seemed that way.

I agree a hundred percent.. but on a message board filled with all ranges.. you have to be prepared for those who have trained and have talent to give more stern advice.. sometimes the truth hurts, but its a matter of perspective.. hell if someone was 10 and did something sub par and above and beyond there age range.. i'd definately tell them they did a good job, but i'd still say what they need to fix, i just wouldn't be as harsh.

But when i see somoene who has done several good things (like the guy who did the venom base) and he does something later i dont care for.. i don't have to sugar coat it... he has talent.. and he's done great things.. and if i don't like something ill say it.. but i also say why i don't like it, and what it needs changed... now if he was reading that he should be able to take that as something to work on, rather then crying in a corner and giving up art all together. You seem to be taking this whole subject to heart for some reason when you say you have a thick skin and can handle it yourself.. and with art.. i think one should be like us and have that thick skin, you need to be able to handle critisizm either way... I just think your taking this subject to heart more then most people who would be getting the critisizm would.

First off, for saying you have a thick skin, you can't even handle him commenting on someone elses work. He is entitled to his opinion. And guess what? You're entitled to yours. You both have valid points, but your both trying to win a pointless battle, cuz neither of you are going to change your minds about this, and no one is going to effectivly prove anything as fact.

Age doesn't matter. You could be 12 years old and be better than someone 3 times that who has been drawing for years. I was shcoked to find out an artist I like is 6 years younger than me, and she's exponentially better than me. And yet, I'm still entitled to an opinion on it, even though she's better than me. I love her art, yet there are still things I'll comment on that I don't like.

You seem to be the one who is taking this to heart. You probably have your reasons for thinking what you do. We have all been torn apart by people in ( or out) of our lives. It's what you take from the criticsm. Some people have said my stuff outright sucked, and I took that and tried harder. If they had a valid point on a change, or something to improve on, than that's different than just saying, " hey you suck, go off and die", which Justin didn't say. Stop trying to cahnge his mind, you won't, as he knows you won't change yours. It's your opinion, and it's his opinion. You both get to have them.

This all seems so trivial.
