Bio: Physical augmentation from the Super Soldier Serum allowed Steve Rogers to be preserved in Arctic ice for decades. Revived and reintroduced into twenty-first century society, the legendary Captain America longs for simpler times and the meaning he once found in fighting for a cause. Outfitted with a sleek new uniform by S.H.I.E.L.D., and wielding his trusty Vibranium shield once more, Captain America’s no-nonsense attitude and old-fashioned optimism make him an ideal candidate to lead Nick Fury’s ultimate crisis response team – The Avengers!

Yet another confirmation that Steve will be leading the group.

Also, I wish his neck area for his suit looked as good as it does here all the time. It's not as loose or raggy looking as it appears at times from certain frontal shots that I've seen.

I "lol" at people who actually thought Cap wasn't going to be the leader in this film, he's clearly Marvel's golden boy for crying out loud.

Well in EMH's, he isn't presented as the leader at the moment..Iron Man is, and considering that he's the person that Marvel likes to promote most due to the success of his films, it's not entirely out there for people to have wondered on who between the two would be leaders if you go by those stats alone.

They focused group EMH on a British kid and he says he didn't like Captain America because he "hates America." :(

Blame it on Bush I guess. Little kids in England hate America now and they can't tolerate the idea of a guy wearing an American flag being the leader of the Avengers.

You know, I think Captain America did remarkably well in the international box office, considering opinions like that.

SlackBrian, that's kind of my point. These "focus groups" don't reflect reality and the Hollywood suits are oversensitive about things like this.

At the end of the day, THE FIRST AVENGER was a silly and unnecessary subtitle.

To me Captain America as a character rises above petty political discourse and he represents that part of America we all love and want to believe in. He's a character that is read and beloved not just in the USA but around the world. His ideals are universal, not just American.

Honestly Cap was portrayed as the leader in the later episodes plus he didn't even appear until episode 9, what's was he suppose to do start leading as soon as he thawed out?

That's true, I love his development in EMH, and when he gives the Assemble call, I was like NOW THE **** GOES DOWN!

When Cap says go, you GO.

While that is true, Cap has been more of a leader to the team more so than Iron Man, everyone including Hulk respects and admires Cap.

I assume at some point in Season 2 when he returns, he'll become the Leader officially.

Not every child in england hates america. lol. I'm sure most of them dont. Cap did real well overseas, especially since no one believed he would. Did u guys see the new german trailer? Theres some more cap footage

Regarding the new spoilers from voldemort.com, my favorite cap moment would have to be...

Where he gives natasha a salute before jumping out of the quinjet with a parachute.

I think the international community used to strongly dislike or even hate America back when Bush was the president, because he did alot of things that got the country very bad publicity so it is understandable why people like that kid in the focus group would say something like that. But I heard President Obama is perceived more favorably around the world now, and that may influenced how moviegoers from other countries see Capt. America.
