Ursula played the same role in SM3 as in SM2, namely the personification of the nice noble attributes of humanity that keeps Peter's faith alive. She served a purpose in both films.

BTW, I really enjoyed her in SM3. "I put the phone...on top of the thing" *pete looks at phone on top of dial* lol, her dialect and mannerisms were very quirky and I loved it
