The Christmas Thread

My nephew's junior preschool class had their Christmas concert on Friday. You really haven't lived until you've seen a class of terrified 2- and 3-year olds try to sing Christmas songs in front of a room full of parents with cameras. Half of them (including my nephew) were bawling by the end of it. :wow: :funny:

One of the reasons why I teach students taller than me.....

I went to downtown Atlanta on Saturday, here's the tree in Centennial Park :yay:

Wow, it seems like yesterday it was the 1st. Better start shopping!

Aw, I haven't been down to see the Rockefeller Center tree this year yet. I usually try to walk there after work at least once before Christmas. I was in Times Square at lunchtime and it appears the tourists are out in full force already. :cmad:

The Eaton's Centre was a bit of a disappointment this year. They're undergoing renovations and didn't have the floating Christmas trees up this year, nor Santa and his reindeer.

Anyone else go see a movie on Christmas? My family and me go to the movies every year. This year we are going to see True Grit. Should be great.

We will probably be seeing "Little Fockers" we try and see one on Christmas Day that has to do with Christmas....True Grit will probably be seen either the day before or after Christmas...

My dad used to take us to the movies on Christmas Eve so my mom could wrap our presents. The first year we were past the whole Santa thing, she thought it was safe to put them under the tree once she finished wrapping them, so they were all there when we got home from the movies (as I recall, we saw Rocky IV that day).

While my mom was making dinner, my sister and I pulled out all of the presents and starting trying to figure out what they were. My mom came back and caught us with the presents spread out all over the floor, and then started yelling at my dad, who had been in the room with us the whole time but he was just reading a book and hadn't noticed, and made us put them back.

It was years before she put them under the tree before Christmas after that. :funny:

I'm looking forward to everything after the presents are open. Our family sits around and plays "Pitch" for a few hours, then we switch to "Texas Hold Em."

Our Christmas is a little off this year.....we will be having dinner and going to a movie on Christmas Day, but in order for all the family to be there for presents we are waiting until the 26th....

Some festiveness.

Finally got all the presents I needed to get for my family.

Got the parents a laptop, and my sister some purple scarf she wanted along with a giftcard. Now I can sleep for two days.

I was up at the mall this morning to see Tron with my dad, and I'm so glad I didn't actually have to go into the mall. Just the parking lot was insane. :wow:

I should probably start wrapping presents though...

Can't believe it's almost Christmas.
