i hope that comic is free.
I hope they make Riddick 3. I really liked the first two and the animated movie. David Twohy (the director/writer) hasn't done either anything after TCoR.
Last time I remember Riddick 3 mentioned in the public was in one of those King Kong videodiaries, the April's fool one. In that video one of the Universal execs says something like "We've put some money aside for Riddick sequel, but we'll use them instead to finance Kong King 2." So at least thery were planning the sequel in 2005.
would riddick novels work?
I don't see why not. Novel or comic sequels might be our best bet at this point.
I agree there as well. Even if Vin isn't involved in their creation. The series maybe his baby, but they've gone off on their own accord at this point. Besides he vanished off the radar.
I doubt he's working on the sequel.
He's been working on Babylon A.D. for next year and getting his Hannibal movie in gear.
I think the series is more David Twohy's baby than anybody's. He's the writer/director behind it all, after all. But yeah, whatever, we can live without.
Or maybe they should consider continuing the franchise in animation, in the Dark Fury style? Call Peter Chung.
Yeah, I remember Alexa Davalos said when CoR came out that her contract included her attachment to a sequel. So I assume that the trip to the Underverse would've been because he was trying to get Jack/Kyra back.
Woohoo! \o/David Twohy said:Okay, okay, now on to the really important stuff like "What the **** is happening with RIDDICK? Yes, I got your emails demanding another movie; yes I keep bumping into guys at the airport and at conventions and I take your pleas to heart. All I can say now is "We're talking about it." The DVD numbers were really good - we know that, and some potential financiers know that. But if another movie surfaces, then it probably won't be a Universal movie and probably will be an independent movie... But that's okay... Maybe it's time to go back to our roots - as we go on to the UnderVerse.
He, I've seen Riddick only once, but Pitch Black god knows how many times. Once my brother started watching it and I was like "Oh, Pitch Black. I'll watch little bit of it." and I ended up watching the whole goddamn movie.I'd watch it... I still somehow haven't seen Pitch Black to the end yet, but Chronicles was just outright fun and Vin created one of the most badass characters I've ever seen. And it had a sad ending, so, that really solidified it, for me, as a great movie, even if it didn't explore any existential themes...
It's actually one of the very few movies I can watch over and over...
