I like Diesel. A lot of his movies have been kind of stupid, but he's got charm, and he's a lot more creative-minded than most actors when it comes to his involvement with story. I really hope that the next Chronicles of Riddick gets underway soon, because I loved Pitch Black, enjoyed COR (it's a very underrated movie, and the director's cut is much better), and I really like the games a lot (the demo for the new one is out, BTW).
One of the things that I've always appreciated about Diesel is that with Arnold doing his governator thing, and Sly Stallone being well past his prime, someone has got to carry on the "big tough action guy" torch. The Rock has had a bit more success so far, but I certainly wouldn't count Diesel out just because he's got a few flops under his belt.
