I'm curious...

Now that all is said and done... let's forget the box office takings or the reviews...

Which film will genuinely be remembered as a "classic"?

I had to vote neither even though I loved x-3 I know it won't be remembered as a classic but the trilogy will. As for superman returns it won't be remember for the actual movie but rather the budget vs the box office.

I don't think either will really be seen as "classics" - neither met with the absolute, widespread love that they need to meet that. That said, SUPERMAN RETURNS is closer to being a classic than X3 is.

I don't think either one will become classics.

They'll be remebered, but I don't think they'll become classics the way a lot of other films (not just comic book movies) have.

Superman Returns and X3 both failed to hit the mark... so I say neither.

Superman Returns is the "classic" of the two IMO.

As much as I loved X3, I won't go as far as to call it a classic.

^ yeah, same here. it felt wrong :p so i voted neither.

I liked both movies. I liked X3 better. I doubt any of these movies would be considered classics. Theres alot of supes, X3 bashing going on. I think theyd be considered good comic movies, but nothing to write home to mom about.

The reason I chose 'Superman Returns'? Because... forgetting it's unbalanced budget for a moment... it just has the simplicity and emotion of a long-gone era. The score, the fun, the no-apologies plot that comes second to character and doesn't breed so many questions...

'X3', on the other hand, was a total missed opportunity... in my opinion, anyway. No matter how well-remembered the first two will be, I think the third will always be recalled as below-par and little more than a business decision. It was just a patchwork movie with little heart, whereas it should have been a memorable event like 'Return of the Jedi'.

Still... they could both learn something from 'Pirates of the Caribbean' or - dare I jinx it - 'Spider-Man'.

Superman Returns was basically made to be classic. Hell, most people's complaints stem from that fact. So, I'd definitely say SR.

Neither are classic.

X3 is a short, sharp blast ... enjoyable but rushed.

Superman was ... imo ... just not very good.

I think 'Superman Returns' only real flaw was being a little too obviously linked with the Richard Donner films. The opening credits, while a nice homage to a long-gone era, were a little tacky in this day and age. I do think the film as a whole will be a grower (not a shower). It is what it is and hard to outwardly "hate", I think.

'X3', on the other hand, needs some serious re-editing, story tweaking and effects work to turn the endless array of great ideas into a complete and timeless whole. The worst thing about that film is that the pieces were almost all there for a great film... and the missed opportunity is what makes it so bad. They couldn't even get the opening credits or logo in sync with the former films.

returns will be remembered as some Odd vague sequel attempt that didn't really work.

X3 too will be remembered as some Odd vague sequel attempt that didn't really work though I must say I did enjoy it more than the plodding and somber return of supes.

I wish I could combine the fun factor of X3 with the quiet elegance of return to make one badass cool film that's memorable forever.

Even though I liked both films, I voted Superman Returns. I wouldn't say that X-Men: The Last Stand will be remembered for being a classic.

Classic exercise in cut and paste, perhaps...

Hey... Scrapbooking's all the rage these days. Maybe Fox were going for that angle. :)

I think once the BO vs Budget stuff dies away SR may well come to be seen as a classic.X3 though is not in any way IMO

Returns is great, but Superman the Movie is the classic, Returns just follows in it's footsteps.

X3is simply not good enough.

Superman looks like an expensive Fan Film, what a waste of money because Superman Returns is so boring.:supes::down
