What happened to KaineMorrison?
No event will top Acts of Vengeance for me, it's that one event that didn't have the feel of an event.
Villains meetings in every title aside.
The only reason I read the first story in Spider-Verse Team-Up #02 is because my brother wanted to hear my feeble attempt at mimicking tones and voices, usually I annoy him with that, but this time he decided it should prove to be entertaining, and it entertained us both. Amazing 700 was a perfect spot to completely drop the Spider-Man title for me, I considered it the end to the main universe Spidey.
Did the movie version appear in this event? Maguire one, not the Garfield version.
Going to let Spider-Verse pile up like I did with Superior Spider-Man and it makes for a much better reading experience. Have heard a lot of great things coming out of the event so it's getting tough to let these books pile up.![]()
So are the events of Spider-Verse now moot considering that the Spiders who died would have died anyway with their worlds when Secret Wars starts in a couple months?
I'm not quite as harsh on Slott. But I've never been a fan of these alternate universes plotlines. There were a few things that were fun seeing, like the 60's cartoon universe, but all in all things get muddy.
Like what Will Nolte said, I looked forward to Pete dealing with the fallout of Superior. And his return seemed a bit quick. Didn't they say that the Pete left in SpOck was not really Pete but some echo? So now it IS Pete? I really thought the "soul molecule" was going to come into play.
I wish Slott would get back to the more grounded Pete/Spidey stories that relied on his vast continuity that he did so well.
Spiderverse feels like a prelude to what's happening with this Secret war that's coming up...
Speaking of Slott apparently he started using a bot on twitter that auto blocks people from a predetermined list. He was bragging about it so much that people were tweeting back to him asking him to stop talking about it because it had become annoying.
As it turns out this bot started blocking people that he had no intention of blocking. Not only did he have to get rid of it, but he had to tweet out an apology tweet and ask for people to let him know if their friend had been blocked today so he could remove them from his blocked list.
I found this pretty funny. Another example of Slott's ego getting the best of him yet again.

Slott did a couple of those two- and three-parters before Superior happened (He even did a couple single stand alone issues that were awesome). I remember praising him for said stories.
I compared that stuff to what David Michelinie was doing in Amazing during his epic run. The Michelinie stories are what pulled me into Spidey comics in the first place.
What really makes me mad is the collection of stories I was looking forward to (stories centering around Peter dealing with the fallout of the Superior era) has been put on hold thanks to this "epic event" and now it looks like we will get only a month or two's worth of those stories now before the 616 is erased by Secret Wars.
The thing is, all of these big crossovers were Slott's ideas. Slott has already stated that his intention with the book was to always do these stories. He pitched these ideas to Alonso and Alonso approved them, but it was Slott who ultimately had these ideas.
Aloha,
Understood, but if the stories that Slott wants to write don't jibe with Alonso's broader vision, they won't get done.Secret war and Battle World have been in the mix for some time. All stories done for the past year or more have to dovetail into that story arc. My point is that the buck stops with the Editor in chief not the writers.
Spidey rules
then let's hope that Ass-ho Alonso gets the boot sometime soon... this guy sucks for EIC'ing the Spider-Man book...
