Shame there's only 3 posts in here.

This should really go in the Heath Ledger discussion thread.

Very good find indeed.

Roberts seems like a really nice, genuine individual.

Everytime I read something that Eric Roberts said it always seems like he's talking about past opportunities that he missed and now regrets.

Good read none the less.

Agreed.
Talent and sensibility.
These guys easily show the difference between true artists and celebrities...

Anybody read the plot spoilers on that same site? Probably bogus but couldn't help having a browse!

That was a very thoughtful memorial.
It's extremely heartwarming to read all of these positive words spoken about Heath from people who actually knew him, and not the idiots in the press.
It is also amazing that so many of the cast and crew of the Dark Knight are paying him respects, as it could turn out to be his best ever role :yay: .

In a different matter, that scene he was talking about sounds amazing!

That was nice of Roberts, even though he's kind of a *****e and really talked a lot about himself  but for him, that was pretty nice . . .

That was a good read. Thanks for the heads up.

Again, rest in peace.

give me a break. if someone says something you like he's "a nice individual."

no roberts is an ******* and a notorious drug fiend. he's had the reputation since the 80s of being a selfish prick on set and he's ruined his own super promising career (oscar nominated in his 20s like heath) with drugs and alcohol and by burning bridges.

far from a nice guy.

he did say nice things about heath which are appreciated. but be aware that us liking someone or not liking someone, or liking what they say or not liking it, doesn't determine if they're a "good person" all it means is we like them or dont like them

wow i guess u knew him then huh?

He does have a point in saying that you can't know a person by what they say or how they act. They can be nice and really ***** you over or be abrasive and really have a good heart. In the end, though that is irrelevant.
We only know and can judge people by what they end up saying and doing. It seems Eric Roberts is a good guy, honoring the true artistic spirit of Heath Ledger.

Roberts was a surprise pick for Nolan. With his record, he didn't actually bring much brevity to TDK. I really think that maybe in Nolan's eyes, all American actors look like annoying Deniro goombahs.

Roberts is being nice after a lifetime of poor made-for-tv decisions and self important, histrionic behavior. 'Pope of Greenwich' and 'Runaway Train' were good. That's about it.

I'll watch this link on one condition. Someone assures me he doesnt refer to Ledger as a "sweetie" again.

It was obvious [Heath] worked hard and took his character very seriously, and did something really risky and unexpected with it. I am so proud to have been part of THE DARK KNIGHT, and can only wish he knew how loved and appreciated he was. It’s painful to watch people focus on someone who’s passed away and to realize that person is not here to receive all that positive energy.

That's about the most important thing Eric said, a nice epitaph.

Awesome stuff, and once again points out Heath showed no signs of being the decadent pill-popper junkie some of the media is trying to portray him as.

Roberts only talked about himself to show that he has known, and even been one of those actors that sink in drugs/alcohol/etc and need help, thus justifying his judgement (spell check says judgement is spelled "judgment". Seriously america, what is wrong with you?) that heath wasnt like that. Or he could be lying, only to give heath a good epitaph.

Doesnt it strike you that Eric has been the only one circling around talking
about heath? Maybe he wants some publicity and to repair his reputation.

Other than the lower level gossip media, no one seems to talk about Heath like he was that kind of "druggie" decadent celebrity. We don´t know yet exactly the circumstances of his death, but it most definitely doesn´t feel like a suicide or someone who was being destroyed by drug abuse, his work surely wasn´t suffering.

Christopher Nolan also wrote a very nice tribute to Heath. He certainly isn´t in need of publicity or repairing reputation.

Hmmm, dont know about "The whole dark knight plot' thing they posted, sounds like something that was pieced together from stuff everybody knows already.

He was so good being sleazy in Star 80 that it kind of derailed his career, I think.

Pope of Greenwich Village, anyone?

He was good earlier in his career, Pope of Greenwich Village, then nominated for an oscar in Runaway Train

I like Eric Roberts a lot. I like him even more if he doesn't like Julia.

He said sweet things about Heath on TV too, and very much defended Heath one the (unfound) addict rumors.
