All Things Conservative, DISCUSS!

Why are you a Conservative? What makes you a Conservative?

Why is your Conservative Platform the correct one?

Same rules as the Liberal Thread, if you turn this into a Conservative Bashing Thread, I will Double Infract you. I want this place to be the an area to discuss all things Conservative...without interuption.

Discuss!

I'm a fiscal conservative. The reason for this is fairly simple: I'm a frugal kind of person. I tend to save my money and only spend money that I actually have rather than running up massive credit card debt. I would prefer that the government take a similar approach to spending our tax dollars that I take to spending my income.

THANK YOU! Thank you for sharing!

The problem with these types of threads is terms like liberal, conservative and socialist have become so politically loaded that their meaning has become completely diluted, at a certain point these terms have double meanings that make them confusing.

If I qualify as conservative, being more Libertarian than anything else, it's because I lack the faith in anyone else to determine what the restrictions on my freedom should be. To surrender that sovereignty, outside of cases wherein I cause a direct and compelling damage to anyone else, is not something with which I am comfortable.

I am a fiscal conservative only....

I have NO PROBLEM with the government spending the money, but "I" want to know exactly where its going, why its going there, is it being used efficiently, what is not working, is there oversight, who is over the oversight committee, are they going to their meetings, etc.

I'm gonna bring my stuff to the table and go into a little more detail when I have more time to work something up, but let me say that I am both a fiscal and a social conservative.
