Drama The Crown (Netflix, series concluded)

'Charles' and 'Philip' are probably my favorite tracks

Charles is the MVP this Season for me. The ending confrontation between him and Colman was pure heartbreak, I really feel him. Didnt expect to have These sympathic feels for Charles.

I read that people began to feel sorry for him a lot earlier....during the Season Two episode where he is forced by Prince Phillip to go to the same school he went to.

It will be interesting to see who they cast for Queen Elizabeth, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward in modern times, also who they get to play Camilla, Diana, William and Harry and Kate. Isn't the plan to end it after season 5?

“At the outset I had imagined The Crown running for six seasons but now that we have begun work on the stories for season five it has become clear to me that this is the perfect time and place to stop. I’m grateful to Netflix and Sony for supporting me in this decision.”

I wonder how true that statement is.

I think that the final season will delve into the Marriage of Charles and Camilla, not sure about William and Kate

I doubt it. Morgan says he does not want to touch modern times. It is too journalistic he says. I think season 5 will end with Charles and Diana's divorce, basically leading into Diana's death and the events of The Queen. Morgan has already covered Diana's death and its consequences for the monarchy in that film in very much the same style and concept as The Crown and I don't think he has much interest in covering the same material twice.

He’s smart not to. We’re too close to it for there really to be anything to take away from it. Come back to it in 20 years or so.

Oh well that’s some good news finally. Shame Colman only got one season though

I think it is fair each cast will get 2 seasons.
Finally some good news. Thanks god, this is winning some awards. Otherwise Netflix would cancelled that like nearly every other show.

Nope.

She is still playing Elizabeth in this year's Season 4, as she was in S3.

Imelda Staunton will take over from S5 onwards, not this year's.

The casting for the 5th and 6th season so far as just been wonderful.

I'm not sure how much Debicki says "Diana", but I can't really think of anyone else who'd be better offhand either. My biggest hangup with Debicki is onscreen she always looks like she's about seven feet tall.

Visually, it’s perfect, even if she is a ****ing giant.

Could add good subtext, honestly. Of course Charles is going to prefer Camilla if she doesn’t make him feel like he’s no taller than a Hobbit...

She made even Superman look short next to her.

A hell of a growth spurt for Princess Diana as the actress playing her in S4 is 5’8.
