dunno if this has been mention but...

i just saw the film today and wen i saw magneto move tht chess piece i had a thought. wot if the cure only works for a certain amount of time. leechs power only works when he in proximity maybe the cure only works while its in the mutants system or sumthing. could be an easy way to give back rouges, magneto, mystiques powers

This has been argued for a while now. Don't know if there is already a thread on it. Kudos to you if there isn't one yet.

thnx i jus read a thread tht did mention it but i suppose there shuld be a thread to discuss it more, if theres more to say

...
temporary?? Considering the final scene with Magneto. You think we will see a sequel with a repowered Rogue and Mystique??

Im guessing the cure will be permanent as needed and temporary as needed.

Yeah I think so I mean look at leech his powers only work when your around him. So maybe the cure doesn't work for long in the.Dang I wish I could work on x-4 I have some fantastic ideas.

Join the club. It would be great to see Mystique and Magneto coming back together after what happened to both of them.

When Magneto said, "NOTHING CAN STOP US" dang did he really mean it....

Yeah, I think that the "cure" is temporary based on the fact that Magneto got his powers back.

I liked it. It gave him a taste to become what he has hated.

Temp defenitly. Rao did say they still needed to map the rest of Leech's brain functions. The cure cells probobly broke up over time.

Wow. And people STILL can't see X4 happening??? So much has been left open.

After 44mil on just Friday, X4 is a safe bet I think...

Was that on purpose?

The cure works, Magneto's displaying some mutant ability is (IMO) a tribute to his will and determaination.

What happens when someone like Jackman (who has neither said he will or won't do any future X_MEN movies) doesn't sign on? The has done 3 X-MEN films and will do a prequel. I don't he goes beyond that and there is no X-Men without Wolverine/Jackman according to Fox.

...no it's because the cure is temporary.

Just so the validity behind the cure isn't totally demolished, I think its lasting effect is only permanent to some. A reasonable way to explain this is that it won't be permanent on those affected by the large mutation radiation Magneto/Rogue triggered in X1...

Not just Magneto's scene but alot of other things. The scene after the credits being the main thing.

Yet Jackman wants to do a Wolverine franchise. And Jackman is producer. Hell of a marketing tool being the last movie.

Fox will not stop a box office monster just because Jackman won't come back trust me. And Angel just seemed like he was purely planted as a seed in this movie for a sequel.

Is it a box office monster if the common moviegoers know Wolverine is not in the flim? He was the lead character. You and I know the series can be great without Wolverine, but will the general audience?

Not just Magneto's scene but alot of other things. The scene after the credits being the main thing.
How does that relate to the cure? Xavier wasn't cured...

That defeats the point of the movie. I really believe it has to do with the character of Magneto and not the cure. he would never give up... NEVER. That's the point.

That defeats the point of the movie. I really believe it has to do with the character of Magneto and not the cure. It doesn't make sense otherwise.

1. Hmm didn't you hear?? Parts can be *GASP*...recasted. And Jackman isn't certainly not returning...he just isn't contracted for X4.

2. It doesn't relate to the cure. I was speaking about how people are saying X4 won't happen yet that was a huge thing left open.
