I have Astonishing X-Men #1-6. These stories involve the cure for mutation. But is this the first X-Men comic to have a cure? Or did that idea originate in a previous serious?

Of course, I can't count the number of villains who have come up with some sort of device that neutralizes mutant abilities. And there was a story where the High Evolutionary used some kind of ray to 'erase' all mutants abilities. But Astonishing is the first time that somebody's come up with what I guess you'd call a medicine that gets rid of mutations. And in House of M 1, when the Avengers & X-Men were trying to decide what to do with Crazy Wanda, I wonder why nobody suggested the Cure.

Nope, the cure was handled in UXM 352-359, as a subplot involving Rogue. 359 dealt with that story and concluded it

Which, I thought, was a very good storyline. Too bad the art was pretty bad for some of it.
