I could deal with that. Billy's age has ranged from 10 yrs old on Young Justice to around 16 yrs old in his pre-New 52 incarnation. JLU animated got him right too (in his one appearance). He can be a boyscout without being dopey. Just portray Cap as he's meant to be with his proper name!

I'm cool with dropping the Captain Marvel name for Shazam if it'll help clear up confusion.

YJ's Cap is awesome. I just wish the new comic version kept that version of Billy but had him mature when he turns into Cap.

He was my favourite modern version of Captain Marvel

I think the new obnoxious Billy is just a front. In the 1930's and 40's there was no t.v., no internet... nobody really knew what it was like to be a homeless orphan. Charles Dickens was the expert! Fast forward to the 21st century and to portray Billy as a sweet "aww schucks" character after living on the streets and in foster homes would be unbelievable to the "new breed" of readers D.C. is aiming for. So they made him a little harder and more obnoxious; but in the last issue they show his softer side when he feels bad for making the little girl cry. I'm sure as the character grows you'll see he's not as bad as he seems and in his heart he is deserving.
