its just a night shadow batman with a secret identies batman head, i changed the head as i liked the all black body but the fully covered face sucked and is a tad small i thought for the body.

simple but very effective, love it man

and thanks for bumping my thread lol

that figs looks real nice though

that is a cool looking batman....

ive been meaning to do another custom since my UJ....i was thinking of buying a deadpool figure and a gambit figure and replacing gambits head with deadpools. Then painting the entire body in grey then a few layers of white (for an under tone) and then dry brush in an even lighter grey to create a pretty cool looking Fantomex....if i ever manage to get around to doin it ill post pics on here.....

also a few modifications from a sack head resident evil figures head and any dc or marvel figure that has someone wearing a suit could make a very cool movie version scarecrow from batman begins....

ok well i better post some pics. ill start in order i made thses. and please keep in mind that before my first re-paint, id never painted anythin before in my life! i think i have come along well since my first.

Those hulk customs are pretty sweet.:wow: i tried my hand at re-painting a fig and it went horribly wrong but im gonna give it another shot after a bit of practice. :woot:

it can work out ok depends on how you go about it....dry brushing is a very good technique to learn when painting.....for instances the veins and things like that if touched over lightly with a dry brush containing the minutest (that a word?) amount of paint a darker or lighter colour to the main body can have some brilliant effects.

Quick customising question...

I've just bought a 3" DIY Bart Simpson Qee which I would like to customise. I have some modeling paints, the kind used on plastic Airfix models & those Warhammer figure things. Will that be ok to use on the Bart Qee? Or do I need a different kind of paint. Also, do I need to prime & or seal it?
Any help would be great, thanks. :)

Depends venom airfix models and warhammer models should be two diffrent types of paints. Your wanting an acrylic based paint (gamesworkshop/citadel) always prime first as that way the paint wont just be soaked up by the plastic to start with and will go on even. Also sealing is up to you and if your just going to display not essential but always worth it incase of chips or cracks.

Hope that helps buddy

Ah right, didn't know that. I'll have to have a look at what type it is I have here then, thanks. I know I've not got any primer so that's on the shopping list for starters. He will be just for display but sealing does sound like a good idea. Thanks for that, a_uk

ill be sure to post my emaa frost custom when i finally get round to getting that series.

im basically planning to use x-23's (purple) head. duno what im gonna do for the hair...im kindda hoping the hair tht emmas got will just fit on there...i doubt it will though.

^ Had to do something surprising for my woman this year for her birthday, as I always feel getting the usual traditional presents is a lil' bit boring.

Last year, surprise trip to London. This year, I changed Ms Marvel into a version of her. Took around two weeks, using a hell of a lot of sculpey. I already have experience with paints due to Warhammer collecting years ago, so I knew how to get the right effects.

Don't have a photo of the base, but it had a converse shoe, books and a stethoscope. She likes to read; she's a trainee nurse, and she normally wears converse.

What can I say, other than the fact she really loved it. Another successful gift, bring on next year...

ill give you a small piece of advice....its very important though....

when these figures are made in factories they are covered in a type of varnish or gloss or something which prevents the current paint job from rubbing off....you need to wash the figure in warm soapy water other wise your paint will just crack and chip as you try to pose or stand it on your shelf....

Ah yes, thanks for the tip.

I had thought of washing it before painting 'cos of the grease/oil on my fingers. Didn't think of the varnish coat that would be on it.

yeah i made that mistake with my UJ and it started to chip by the joints...

Wow those Hulk's are awesome

Venom UK has a awesome avatar!!!!!
