It seems to be working now. Start up Itunes and go to the music store. There's a link for the WB shows. Click on Aquaman in that pic and it goes to a download link. Its downloading for me now as I post this.

Okay wow. I just saw the Aquaman pilot and the CW execs are complete morons for not picking this show up. First I want to say how annoyed I was with the lag, but I'm going to ignore that.

This pilot was simply brilliant. Basically we get a flash of AC as a child and there is some disturbances from the Bermuda Triangle and his mother is lost. Justin Hartley does a great job as AC. He plays more of a rebellious character, but he has good motives, which is a nice contrast to the boyscout Clark Kent. And the supporting cast seems interesting so far as well. There's a lot of Atlantis mythology and AC is learning about his heritage pretty early on.

This series has a lot of focus on the navy and the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle. This pilot definitely shows a lot of potential. The SFX are incredible. It's a real gem. The execs at the CW are idiots to have picked up more useless reality shows over this. I won't say too much more, because I don't wanna spoil too much but I'll definitely say this is worth the download.

alright I was finally able to download the show, but of course had the same issue as Serene trying to put it on my iPod. If you read the "reviews" on iTunes, it seems that everyone is having those issues. I hope they put out a new download.

Anyway, I watched the Pilot twice and REALLY liked it. I'll be doing a more formalized review over on the Kingdom, but I really liked everything about the show and was left wanting more. They had so many interesting angles that I wouldve loved to have seen how they played out. McCaffrey "training" AC, AC discovering his heritage, the Bermuda triangle, how those people kept coming back and not aging (especially the pilot chick that we see at the end), the "creatures of the deep," and the development of AC's powers of telepathy, etc.

I think midseason is still a chance.

The 'leaked trailer', release of Pilot on ITunes, and news of a broader release during SV S6 are all ways to continue the marketing for the series. Which is still a 'contender' for midseason.

To me, for some reason I get the Snakes on a Plane type vibe in the way it spread really quickly over the internet. Despite not being on the fall line up, it is still the most talked about 'new' show on the CW.

Justin Hartley playing Green Arrow- even more of a plus in the direction of Aquaman. Sometimes problems and complications come into play when the lead actor signs on for another project when uncertain about the fate of the project he finished beforehand. CW knew that could happen and kept Hartley in the loop. A very smart move to make. Because now we are in a better predicament than what would have happened had Hartley signed on for a different midseason show.

Dawn Ostroff's mention of Aquaman still being a 'midseason contender', what has been happening recently, etc. is really a step in the right dirrection. If everything keeps up- we could be looking at the strongest midseason contender a la a shoein. The number of people buying the PILOT is great. Now, it's the ratings when the Pilot premieres on SV S6 at some point- which has been mentioned before and still a possibility; note how ITunes says "be the FIRST to see..." in other words, more like an early peek exclusive- similar to what happened to the BLADE Pilot episode.

Thus, IMO, the CW is testing the waters. If the water looks good, I have no doubt that the CW will jump straight in and have a midseason swim.

took me less than 5 minutes. you on dial-up?

BTW Aquaman is now the #1 downloaded TV show on iTunes

Wow!!!!! That's definitely more points to possible midseason run. It continues to do this good when it runs on SV S6. We'll looking at a gigantic strong 'competitor' for midseason.

I hope you're right, Triligors. I'd like to see this show get a shot.

Ditto. It was really a fantastic pilot. It'd be a shame for all that potential to go to waste.

I loved the pilot & correct me if I am wrong here but isnt AC some kind of prince of Atlantis ? So I am guessing part of this show would be about the current ruler of Atlantis finding out about AC being alive & then various Episodes would be about Atlantis Hitmans out to kill AC & all of that stuff so that AC can not take the Atlantis Throne

I watched the Aquaman pilot last night. I was certainly engrossed, and left wanting more--as a good pilot should do. However, I think that Aquaman lacked the cinematic feel that Smallville's pilot had. Some of the acting seemed a bit weak--from Ving of all people!--but doubtlessly, had the show been given a chance, the actors would have really grown into their characters. I hope the CW (or someone else) gets to give Aquaman a chance.

Edit: How could I forget to say something about Justin Hartley? He was warm and funny, and I am even more hyped to see him as the Green Arrow in Season Six. :)

"Aquaman" Going Swimmingly on iTunes

Aquaman is a hit--and this time iTunes, not Vincent Chase, can take credit.

The TV pilot based on the all-wet DC Comics superhero was one of the iTunes Music Store's most-played clips Tuesday, the same day the rejected series became available for download on the online music/video purveyor.

Aquaman, developed for the outgoing WB, and rejected by the incoming CW, was the biggest curiosity piece brought to iTunes as part of a new deal between the Apple Computer service and Warner Bros.

Episodes of other "classic hit" (read: long-dead) Warner shows bowing Tuesday on iTunes: Friends, Babylon 5, The Flintstones, and The Jetsons. Sketches of the still-running MADTv also were available. All the clips were priced at $1.99 a download.

According to Apple, the iTunes video library now includes more than 9,000 music videos, Pixar and Disney short films, and TV shows--from Desperate Housewives to Hannah Montana.

At one point Tuesday, the 41-minute Aquaman pilot was in fifth place--and rising--on iTunes' rankings of its top TV shows.

The resurfacing comes in the wake of Nobody's Watching, a rejected WB comedy pilot, being revived by NBC on the strength of that show's YouTube buzz.

Aquaman, starring former soap star Justin Hartley as A.C. Curry, a young man with "amazing aquatic abilities," looked like a lock for a prime-time shot when the WB set about casting the pilot in late 2005. Developed as a companion to the WB's Clark Kent-led Smallville, Aquaman would share the same creators, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the same DC ancestry, and the same low-key superhero ethos, i.e., superpowers good, super-costume and super-nickname bad.

Aquaman also had Entourage going for it. The HBO comedy made the making of an Aquaman movie the centerpiece of its second season. (Conveniently, HBO is a corporate cousin of Warners and DC.) On the show, Vincent Chase, the resident heartthrob played by Adrian Grenier, starred, and James Cameron, played by James Cameron, directed.

As Entourage moved into its third season this summer, its Aquaman broke Spider-Man's opening-weekend box-office record.

At the same time, however, the real-world Aquaman project was dead--washed ashore when the WB folded, and left behind when the CW, an amalgam of WB and UPN shows, launched.

In a recent interview with WizardUniverse.com, Gough said the reasons for the CW snub are "a mystery." It wasn't the pilot's fault, he said.

"We're really proud of the pilot," Gough told the Website. "I think it definitely puts Aquaman in a modern context, and he's not lame."

Gough said he hoped fans would get to see the show. Presumably, the writer-producer was talking about something like the iTunes deal--and not the unauthorized clips that had popped up on the Web in recent months.

In the end, all is not lost for Aquaman--and especially not for Aquaman. Hartley will play another character from the DC universe, Oliver Queen (aka the Green Arrow), on the upcoming season of the CW-bound Smallville.

Vincent Chase, meanwhile, could use another job.

Can you imagine the numbers once WBTV puts Smallville eps on iTunes?!!

I haven't been able to watch it yet, I'm going to have to get it downloaded tonight.

Oh and Hulk, make sure you let us know when you have your review ready.

yup, that was pretty much the point of McCaffrey making him read "Henry IV Pt. I and II"

So which one of you kind souls is gonna send this to me? :O

do you have an email account big enough to accept a 243MB file? I might be able to send it you over YIM or something tonight when I get home, but you'd need something that plays mp4 files on that fossil of a computer that you're using ;)

I've got Quicktime on here and iTunes/XP on my laptop, but can't get a net connection on that here.

Could put it on an upload site perhaps. I am on IM also.

I dunno, after all is said and done will it even play?

Umm....I tried uploading the Blade pilot when it was on iTunes and, much to everyone's dismay, you had to have your computer authorized to play the file. I've heard that there's a way to lift that restriction from the video, but I never could find out what it was.
Sorry, just didn't want you guys to waste your time, find out about the restrictions after uploading the file.

I know once you are able to play the file on your computer re encoding it helps & takes away the restriction I think

Nice, I did not know that. Tried encoding the Blade pilot into .wmv and all I got was a gray screen.
