The CW Passes on Aquaman

Exactly what I was thinking. I bet they did this to see how People would re act to it
WB is producing this are they not? CW may not want it, but that doesn't mean they're not looking to see if anyone else will pick it up.

perhaps. I know NBC wanted Smallville pretty bad from WB when it was showing the Pilot episode around, but WB decided to keep it for themselves.

WB produced Aquaman all on their own, so it's likely they could sell it to another Net now that CW passed on it....

My impression from the beginning. I mean, this definitely wasn't an accident.

One thing that I think made them cautious. Remember when alot of the posters on here were posting negative comments about the show and how it will live for shorter than a season and so on? That would be enough to make some executives nervous. Probably they wanted to see, "hey, let's just 'leak' the trailer (things never actually get leaked- I believe- it's a 'tactic') and see how it does."

Because first remarks vs. trailer remarks is ALWAYS different. X3 and SR are great examples of this. Both had really negative comments and speculations at first, then the trailers hit &- wow! OMG! Awesome! Betting the execs wanted to see if it got the same reaction. It was the same process. Negative-> trailer= "wo!".

Chances of it being an accident. Very slim. It was on long enough to save and it was on TODAY after the 'cancelation' report. So, don't know what happened. If it was someone behind the show or CW- it leaked and the fans loved it. They might even be searching and reading this right now?

And by the rate the petition is going- now at 44- been on for 3 hrs. I'd bet 100 by tomorrow morning when I wake up (around 10-15 hrs from now)

you never know..... Where's JackMercy when you need him?

Still climbing and climbing and climbing... it's the energizer bunny. No, but really. Just, I think, 3 hrs, and it's up to 55 now. If this petition continues the way it is..... we'll definitely have something to go "hey, CW. Here's proof that you made your first mistake as a big network. People really want this show. It's still time, wake up and save this great show!"

Zero chance that was accidental. A corporate website like that wouldn't screw something that massive up. No way, no how, NEVER.
So many people have to sign off on something like that, it'd never 'accidentally' happen.
I disagree to some degree. They would never upload it by accident, but I know of many instances where content that was only intended for a select number of eyes was leaked to the 'net at large.

It's no accident that it's there, but it may be an accident that we know it's there. Kind of like those stills from Reckoning.

Also. If CW doesn't sharpen up it's act. The network will get lots of negative publicity because of this whole situation probably. I mean, I can't go anywhere without people calling the execs at CW "dumb". It's kind of funny. Once news articles and Entertainment sites start picking up on this- which should be soon. Expect online articles with headlines such as:

BAD PUBLICITY FOR CW AFTER DROWNING AQUAMAN

AQUAMAN FANS IN AN UPROAR AFTER YESTERDAY'S TRAILER FOR THE POSSIBLE HIT SHOW

THE CW MAKES A BAD DECISION THAT MIGHT MAKE THIS NETWORK SINK

I could go on. Just: Trailer premiered today. Fans and everybody, practically, who saw it loved it. As for the Pilot. Publicity people loved it. Kryptonsite saw it and liked what he saw. I mean, the list goes on and on. LOTS of great publicity. I wouldn't be surprised and have the CW say "no, that was a typo actually- Aquaman is on Thursday Nights 10-11" or something like that. I don't know. Just the chances are slim that after this spreads like wild fire, which after one day- wo. Just imagine a week from now and it's far from September. CW might be scrambling as we speak. Their a new network, what they don't need is already angry viewers and bad publicity from the press because they made a bad decision. So, chances are high (I believe) for fall and especially for mid-season.

And it's not just here.... it's everywhere almost. The trailer is gaining positive fan reactions, and the CW is getting ALOT of negativity towards it's fall line up. I mean, CW is the new kid on the block and is definitely- hilariously- getting beat up on. It's (The CW) going to eventually give in.

If this continues. I don't see how the CW can say no to Aquaman.

News from aquamantv:

Would Aquaman Have Been On Wednesdays At 9?

aqua5fs.jpg

"Dennis" sent us to a link at the CW's website that would have put Aquaman on Wednesdays at 9PM.

Unfortunately, as we've seen, the timeslot has been taken by One Tree Hill.

Apparently the links have already been removed, but if you're curious about what might have been, all you have to do is look at the thumbnail to your left.

(The CW folks have been really busy removing Aquaman stuff today. Could it be a sign that there's actually, I dunno, some interest?)

Also considering the newfound hype, Mercy Reef has a strong chance of being a replacement show or midseason run.

Also this shows me that CW was excited about the show. I doubt the would have added it in as an initial link if they were 'on the fence' about it.

Seems like a real last-minute decision to yank it.

Thank god those untalented hacks Al Gough and Miles Millar were not allowed to subject a whole new audience to their brand of low brow, wittless and completely unoriginal garbage. All praise whoever had the foresight or integrity to pull this.

Well, Wednesday's at 9:00pm would have been murder anyway, it would have been set-up to fail. They need to put it right behind SV if they would have moved forward with it.

A bit harsh, aren't we?

My day on the boards starts around 5am. It kinda goes from there, depending how busy I am throughout the day. ;)

if you're going to accuse someone of being stupid, you might want to at least spell the insult correctly.

I say Move Supernatural

Cancel 7th Heaven (they already advertised that as the Series Finale & Final Episode & bringing it back will just confuse everyone) Supernatural already has a Fan Base & an Audience & has prooven itself. Supernatural is pretty much here to stay & moving it will not hut it.

If more people and press talk about the show, other nets might "hear" the chatter and wonder what all the fuss is about. Buzz gets attention - especially GOOD buzz!

Well I guess we'll just have to play the waiting game. . .I have to admit they did a much better job with it than I expected after SV's version.

The Mother was kidnapped ? I was under the impression that she died. If thats so & shes actually alive well there goes the big twist :o

I'm doing my part--I've posted the link to the trailer and the petition over in the small movie forum that I post at. I plan on bombarding my family & friends with this trailer over the next few weeks. Every little bit helps. :)
