The CW Passes on Aquaman

Then, I'd say let's all use their contact pages to our advantage. Let's tell them about it. Let's spread the word.

Last night I spread the word over at ComicBookResources forums- don't know if this was exactly what did the trick. But, when I woke up CBR had an article about the leaked trailer.

So, it's all about spreading the word.

what im trying to say is this:

with all the aquaman bashing on the boards, the CW probably got scared off and pulled the plug. once the trailer came out, people were like "wow this looks cool" but the damage had already been done, and now those same people who were bashing are starting/signing petitions to have it air.

had they been more moderate in their initial reaction, the network probly would have aired the pilot and picked up the show (ii heard the spent $7m to produce it), and the need for petitions would have been obviated.

whats the saying? "An ounce of prevention, is worth a pound of cure?"

Actually, it's the longest running show about Clark Kent, NOT Superman..............:)

Well, I'm sure glad a long running show automatically equals quality.

dont start THAT debate again.....

and if you'd like to throw out some way to quantitatively measure the "quality" of television series besides ratings numbers and longevity, I'm all ears.... In fact I've got an office full of media buyers here who'd be interested as well....

isnt that why people should usually reserve passing judgment on a show until the see it? let alone before its even filmed?

Can you blame anyone though after seeing the Smallville Version brah :o

people bash EVERYTHING on the internet before they see it. If the net was around when Citizen Kane came out, people would've ripped that too. The internet is a "nice" look at what certain people with extremely skewed perspectives think/ The general populace usually falls somewhere in the middle. Trust me, I dont think the "nerd vote" as it's called, had that much impact.

That being said, I'm not sure how much weight petitions really carry. You're better off sending letter and bombarding them with emails, and having the petition as a fall back.

Precisely I don't need to watch an upcoming Uwe Boll or Paul W. Anderson film to judge whether it's going to be high quality or utter garbage. You just pretty much know.

Really, why are you guys starting petitions for a show that you havent watched yet?

Sent a note in to every contact above.

Aquaman (CW) news- Fan reaction to leaked trailer

The Aquaman trailer leaked out onto the internet yesterday. The negative buzz almost completely disappeared and was instantly replaced by anxiously awaiting fans. Petitions formed, the trailer continued to leak over the net, and fans started to write letters in to the CW. Even some of those who had initially formed a negative opinion about the show soon did a 180 and became some of its foremost supporters. The trailer attached was probably, according to rumors and speculations, going to be shown with Superman Returns in theaters. Below are links to the QuickTime trailer, online petition, and address to write in to the CW.

Blatant lies.:o

The most people said that it was a good trailer, but need to watch the whole pilot to judge.

Hmm Paul Anderson comes pretty damn close

Actually I liked Paul Anderson too. He did Mortal Kombat and Resident Evil, and those we're pretty good.

Yeah, maybe exagerated- but definitely got the point across.

In other news, Chris and Aqua (myself), made some leeway over at comingsoon.net & superherohype. Great news.

Aquaman Preview Leaked

Well, this is odd. Aquaman actually looks like a pretty cool show, but we guess there just wasn't room for it on The CW's 2006-07 schedule? Perhaps another network will take a look at it. How about Spike TV? SCI FI Channel? Anyone, anyone?

Anyways, a leaked commercial/trailer for Aquaman is now online and you can view it here!

The 'here' had the link to YouTube preview for the show.

Thats not at all what happened. It was pulled because there were no openings. It would have been on Wednesdays at 9pm, but since all these stupid WB shows (7th Heaven and One Tree Hill) got renewed there's no place for Aquaman. Most likely if a show gets dropped mid-season then Aquaman will be a go!! Don't give up hope yet!!!

Nice!! I hope you don't mind but I've been passing out links to your trailer to get people to see it. When I get a chance I'll convert it to a WMV streaming format and host it myself.

137 now. We made the first move. ComingSoon/SuperheroHype was one of the places we needed to get. Now we can be taken more seriously. Remember to contact the other contacts as well and inform them on what is going on. It worked with CBR and CS/SH so far.

This was a great trailer! I wasn't against the show, and always thought it might turn out good if done right, now having watched this trailer I get the feeling that they nailed it!
AL & Miles did it again, and the CW made a big mistake passing on this show.
I have a feeling that it will eventually get picked up.
The show looks to good to be passed up... Anyone got any links to petitions or something to get the whole pilot aired?

On my sig.

Also, an open space will open up when one or two of the shows originally planned fail- Seventh Heaven is over, statistics will show that. Also one of it's new Pilot's might also fail and fail early- ex: Just Legal. That show had three episodes and then was kicked. So, chances are- more spaces will allow AC to swim his way onto the CW- especially with the strong support just after one day.

Yeah I have to admit when Im wrong and From the look of this trailer I might have been. I wasnt really interested in it and thought it would be just a smallville clone. But after seeing the trailer...that actually looked fairly decent. It's a shame it doesnt get the chance. Oh well.

146 sigs, if this keeps by the end of the day- 200->250. If the fan reaction continues, it has a very strong chance of CW execs switching around it's schedule to accomodate it. This includes: fall, replacement show, & midseason. One of the Pilot's, and I believe- 7th heaven- don't have a strong chance and will fly off the air soon. Just Legal didn't get a chance after a couple of episodes. Same thing will happen. Then there's space. And Aquaman would be the most obvious choice to put in it's space.
